Hey everyone

My name is Rick. I'm looking to pick up a Syclone in the next year and decided to join the forums to read up on these vehicles. There's a Syclone owner less than a mile away from me who I occasionally see bringing rubbish in his Syclone to the local transfer station. I'm hoping to buy his if possible. Maybe he's on this site?

Just figured I'd give you a heads-up in case people were wondering "who's this Regal guy lurking on our forums?". LOL :)

Here's a couple pics of the Regal, btw.

Re: Hey everyone

Welcome!

Nice Buick!
You will miss the leg room and back seat when you shoehorn yourself intoa Sy though.

How tall are you?

Lots to learn if you want to be a "responsible" owner.

Enjoy the site!

Re: Hey everyone

Nice ride. I bought my TY about 6 mo. ago and enjoyed working on it(which you do alot) as labor of love. I hope you find a nice SY just try to get a rust free one.

Re: Hey everyone

I'm 6'3". Didn't think of the size constraints in the Syclone. I'll have to sit in one and see how I fit. LOL

edit: I'll take my time looking for a nice Syclone. Modding cars has become a passion of mine so I don't mind keeping up with broken parts, maintenance, etc. It's definitely a passion and it keeps me out of trouble. :)

Truckless. For now.

Do you only want a Syclone? There's always Typhoons. Lots more room in them

I am 6'3" and fit in my Syclone. If I was an inch taller (legs or body) I might be very uncomfortable. I could probably use another inch of leg room.

I wish the seats reclined and the cab was a couple inches longer, the seats are very upright (their isn't any room for them to recline anyways). I angle my front seat slightly with 3 or 4 washers under the front seat rails, it helped a little bit.

Never thought of that. For whatever reason, I always liked the looks of the Syclones more. :dunno:

I did too until I had the money to start shopping.
I drove a Sy and a Ty and then it was a no brainer for me...
figured I could always get a Sy later.
Now I don't think I would want 2 of these monsters to maintain.

Re: Hey everyone

I'm 6'1 and must say when I first got into my Sy I was like oh hell no...way to small. Pulled the trigger anyway and am quite comfortable now that I'm used to it.

Reasons I got a Sy over a Ty was 1) less weight, 2) less made, 3) needed a pickup truck. It's no heavy hauler but its quite handy at times.

But...after sitting in a Ty with Fatman seats I was quite envious of how comfortable I was. Back seats look like they were made for kindergartnersthough.

Bottom line, how can you make a bad choice?

PS. Got some pics of the engine in the Buick? And why do so many people black out their license plates on the internet? Doesn't everyone see it when you drive? Just curious.

I have a few pics of the engine bay, let me see if I can dig one up tonight.

Not sure why I blacked out the license plate. Just being ultra cautious I guess. :( Not that I don't trust members here but there are plenty of people who lurk on forums looking to cause trouble. :(

I'm looking forward to sitting in a Syclone and seeing if I fit.
