In Dash LCD

Has anyone ever put a LCD display here:

Seems to me that there would be enough room to fit a 10.4" touchscreen and even recess it a little to keep it out of the sunlight...

I don't mind removing/relocating the vents, window popper, cigarette lighter, and anything else that may be in the way..

I searched here, google, and many of the s-series boards... If anyone has any links to pics or pages that have good examples please post them here.

i was thinking about doing the same thing, but couldn't find a screen that would make a good fit.

I have a 10.4" Touch screen kiosk PC that I was planning on installing into my dash, it would fit but needs a bit of work to make it look smooth.

Thought about what your asking about, but didn't want to completely mess up a stock Ty interior (vents and such as you mentioned), so I opted for an indash 6.5" Pioneer LCD unit and mounted a dvd/tv tuner w/RCA inputs for the laptop display in the console. All seems to work sufficiently for me.

I wouldn't do it in my ty either... I've got another vehicle I am thinking of doing it in but since the dash is the same I figured I would see if anyone has done it to a sy/ty....

I finally found a pic of an S10 with a in dash LCD... The picture sucks though... If anyone has ever come accross any better pics please send them my way...

WEll i'm not going with a complete display, but what I am doing is Customizing some of the radio bezel and fitting the new Kenwood douple din in the deck housing. The only thing that needs to be done is there is a part above the stereo area that needs to be removed. There is a little custom look that needs to be done, but I will be keeping the vents, lighter and tailgate window button in the same place. I will try and get some pics this week..
