the build list is .....
IBS 4.3
poly motor mounts
custom cam (similar to 422)
flat top forged pistons (2valve reliefs)
zero gap rings
studded heads
studded rods
single roller timing chain
old style vortecs
aluminum water pump
H-beam eagle rods
.10 under stock crank
2.02/1.60 valves
three angle valve job
1.6 crane rockers
msd billet dist/coil
msd 6al-2
fluid damper balancer
stock exhaust manifolds wrapped
stock turbo (just to get it running)current is 74mm PTE/.81ar
internal wg
3inch mandrel DP with unshrouded puck
3inch mandrel exhaust with dynomax superflow (no cat, im a dog lover)
stock TB (just to get it running)
sheetmetal valve covers (little bling)
sheetmetal upper intake (alot of bling)
all braided/AN fittings (yeah im a looser)
-8 feed line
-6 return line
external pump/filter
accufab adjustable FPR
harwood 15 gallon w/sender
ABS delete
line lock
manual steering box
battery mounted under rear of bed
rebuilt 700r4
3K converter
poly tranny mount
10bolt rear
3.73
modded posi (heavy springs etc)

this is the build. im going with code59/PLX/TPRT. the truck currently has 50s with the 74mm wg disconnected and the stock chip/ecm. the truck sounds super mean idling and reving in neutral. its a fresh motor so WG is disconnected for saftey. im getting my ostrich/G1 in on tues...and will be hooking it up just to see whats going on in the truck.

so my question is whos got a similar build that runs well on code59? what injectors are you using? im not interested in doing meth. just 94 octane.im farmiliar with the rule of thumb ...if your target (flywheel) HP was 700hp. 700 / 12 = 58.3 So you'd be over the limit of 50s, but you could run 60s/65s and be good.

thanks in advance guys.

Re: injector suggestions ...............

I would go bigger than 60/65's if going for 700hp.

oops. i was just picking 700hp as a sample. i don't want my injectors to be my limitation. but i wanna make as much as i can safely on the street.

Re: injector suggestions ...............

You can't have injectors that are too big, but you can have too small. I maxed out my 50s pretty easily with a somewhat mild build and now I'm running 65's at about 80% cycle duty. In your case I'd probably go with 75's. You can always run less fuel with a bigger injector but you can't run more fuel with a smaller injector. Just a thought

Re: injector suggestions ...............

65's would be good, if you want to go bigger, mototron makes a 80lb that is based off the 65 mototron inj. The 80's have a blue ring on the bottom of them but are thin like the 60's and are black

Re: injector suggestions ...............

On 94 octane not sure you will do a whole lot. When I ran 93 up here I had issues with the 20g after 18psi. Alky, e85 or race gas is where you will get your power. Especially with a 74mm turbo. FWIW, I run the 67gtq with alky and at 20psi, my INJ DC is at 55% with my 80# injectors. I wouldn't go with the 65's if you want some room.

Out of curiosity, why don't you want to run alky or another type of fuel?

Oh and BTW, I am running the blue ring 80's that mimic the Motron 65's. So far I like em.

Re: injector suggestions ...............

I dont wanna throw so many variables at a new build ie meth.

I was actually online looking for race gas. Its not far from me. So I might do a 100octane.

mike, the only thing us is CO and ny have alot different elevation. Would that effect octane?

Re: injector suggestions ...............

Octane no, air density/quality yes.

From everyone I've talked too and read from/about, the bigger the more room you have. You can tune a good injector for low end driveability and idle, but want enough room in the middle and top to give the moptor what it wants. Go big, do the ecm inj mod if you need too, then you can run even bigger and not worry about it down the road.

Re: injector suggestions ...............

poly motor mounts melt. Go stock or solid,

Off topic...lol. But yes. agreed.
I have the manifolds and crossover wrapped but im gonna unwrap them and wrap the ss dp sportmachines mqde. Its pretty. But prob better off wrapping the dp and not the crossover and manifolds. Dont want crqcking or rusting to be an issue. Ill keep any eye on the poly mounts and swap to solids if I have to. And thanks quickstop for noticing.

Hey man, you're welcome :)

Also, one thing I would have done differently on my build - on the vortec heads and the valves, I got the impression 2.02 was too big and the heads can crack. You might want to look into that.

As for swapping mounts, that is a job I wouldn't want to take a chance with but if you are a glutton for punishment, be my guest :D

Re: injector suggestions ...............

I wouldn't sweat 2.02's having issues. So far mine seem great and they have lived a life of constant abuse, even before they were on my truck. One thing I will say, I would not recommend the ECM mod unless you have a spare ECM with drivers installed laying around at all times. Mine went out after about 2,000 miles and I had a hard time locating the drivers. Stuff like that I can't handle. That is what led me to buy the high impedance 80#ers so I could just run the stock ECM and not worry about it.

Thanks mike. Info like that..and the poly mounts are good food for thought. Much appreciated guys.

I have alot of learning ahead, but not worried. For the most part we have great people on this site. TIA.

Not to hijack but it may help out...

Mike did you split the load with your modded ecm? Or did you just install the mofset drivers?

Re: injector suggestions ...............

I had the same build in my AWD Ty prior to my last build. It had vortecs and a GTQ 74. I maxed out 75# injectors with 110 Octane and 28# boost. I switched them out for 84# injectors and they were right on at about 80% duty cycle. I could run around 16 - 17# on pump gas at about 50% duty cycle. Go big enough so that you can run higher octane gas and still feed it a higher boost.

I would recommend something around 75# and keep the max boost (with your bottom end and a 74mm turbo) to around 22-23 lbs to safe.

I did the mosfet drivers, installed the resistors and installed the jumper. I am not saying that the ECM mod doesn't work or is unreliable, I am saying the SYTY ECM can take a shit at anytime leaving you with the mess of re-doing drivers and what not.

Did you redo the harness for the true peak hold functionality or are you just running as a saturated setup?

thats kinda what i wanted to hear. the duty cycle tells it all. 80% sounds like still a little of flexibility. no biggie to go down with the injectors tune, but you cant go up once your maxed out.
