Intercooler hoses

I replaced all the intercooler lines going through the fender and i have been filling it with antifreeze for the last two nights. When i get home i would check on it top it off and leave it alone. I notice it just keeps creaping down. I dont mind it becasue im thinking its going to the intercooler rad and filling it up and its just taking some time. Then yesterday i started the car first time after the work i did to top off the anitfreeze in intercooler and rad and make sure everything was working fine. At this time the intercooler pump is on and i can hear it but the fluid has no movement at all. I do remember in the past you will see some kind of movement showing something is pushing water through. I opened the drain plug and the rad does have fluid.

What can i do to make sure i have it filled. So far it took half gallon of anitfreeze.

Re: Intercooler hoses

its poss that the pump has taken a dump on you, could be making noise and not pumping. If that were the case, the fluid in the upper IC would get really hot, and possibly build pressure and push out to the overflow if still connected, or it could just evaporate.

I have always been able to see fluid movement when my IC pump is running. maybe you have a pinched hose.

also, when i bought my sy it had a small hole inside the upper ic, not noticable without taking the ic loose, but was leaking the fluid into the motor, if you keep losing fuild and the pump is working correct, i would pressure check that upper ic.

Re: Intercooler hoses

i filled mine with the pump running and and with the upper unbolted so i could move it around...eventually it burped out the bubble and i continued to fill with 50/50 distilled and water wetter. now when i check it it flows very strong and is very full.

Re: Intercooler hoses

Remove the CACPR and jumper Terminals A andB together to run pump all the time. Fill until full and reinstalled relay and put cap on.

I have the pump already on a switch and its running all the time. I will keep checking on it. I plan for a drive tomorrow so lets see what happens.
