Interest Thread: Sheetmetal side facing upper intake

I bought the Renz upper several years ago with the intention of going air/air. I have since decided to stay water/air, but haven't seen any side facing sheetmetal uppers available out there. I'm dropping my stock intake off a local chassis builder for him to build a prototype. He's very interested in doing a group buy on these. Just seeing what interest there would be on these. Price hasn't been set yet, but it should be around the price of the Renz upper when he was building them ($475 iirc). Hoping to have the prototype done in a few weeks.

Anyone interested?

Here's some of his work.

Im in! Hoping it helps with the Lean condition that the Stock Upper has to the back cylinders.

This was Jason's (Syclone1531) old setup, but with a Carb style lower intake.

Why don't you get that ****er back on the road before you start thinking of dumb shit that doesn't matter?

I'm going with a edelbrock and elbow this year. We'll see if it helps/makes any tuning differences.

I think renz was working on a side facing upper at one time as well?

Is it eric @ MWC?

I was going to have my upper re-engraved with Typhoon and powdercoated, might as well spend the money on something like this, since I would eventually do it anyways. Plus, I'm at a kinda at a standstill until it gets back from paint. Just thinkin ahead.
What is the space capsule for?
It's a rear diff housing.

I've been working with Renz and the builder on these over the last week. With Renz already having CAD drawings on these, equals less developmental costs, so cheaper price for everybody. So if you're interested, see this thread for the group buy.
