Just bought Sy #0402

Noobie to the Syclone scene. Been wanting one since they were knew and I was 15 years old in '91.

I just bought #0402 out of Oregon and will be bringing it back to Texas in the next couple of weeks. 25K miles, one owner since '92...hoping it's as nice as the owner describes.

Any idea on what I need to look into immediately with the truck? I know the vacuum hose situation but what else? My plans are to lower the truck, nice wheels, and whatever bolt-ons you guys recommend to get the truck reliably into the low-mid 12's.

Thanks in advance!

I'm in Midland, Tx. A looooong way from Oregon. Lol

Any Oregon members near Pendleton that could help me in shipping the stock bed cover?

My brother lives in Pendleton. Hell, he even works for the railroad, though I don't know if they head south at all. I could check with his schedule. It's not going at the same time as the truck?

Actually the truck has a Lear (or similar) bed cap that the older gentlemen owner put on the truck years ago. I don't want the bed cap, I just want the factory rails and soft bed cap. But the owner tells me they won't fit under the Lear bed cap so I'll have to ship them separately (unless a Syclone expert tells me another way). LOL

I'll see if I can't get some pics of the truck up here in a bit.

The factory tonneau cover and frame rail come all apart, it will fit in the bed diagonally.

Re: Just bought Sy #0402

Thanks guys!

Now, can someone give me a link to the best if the following:

1. Cold air kit
2. Exhaust. (not familiar with ATR but sounds like I need a downpipe from them?) I need a nice stainless catback as well if someone makes one
3. Lowering kit for the front and rear. 2" front 4" back maybe?

Thanks again!!

Cold Air

http://www.sytyperformance.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=680&category_id=200&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26

ATR is out of business, but SyTy Performance/RPM also offers exhausts

For lowering the front all you need to do is crank the torsion bars down (They're adjusters under the truck.)

For the rear you will need either drop blocks or replacement leaf springs I think if you search the forum you can find names of manufacturers.

welcome and congrats. I purchased a set of drop leaf springs from Summit they were I believe Belltech brand also purchased a set of nitro-drop shocks to go with them for a pretty nice ride. The springs are obviously more expensive than the lowering blocks but in my opinion just because of the ride difference they are well worth it. Congrats again, Nick.
