What the heck is this?

The only writing on it is this :

Please help!


There is an unknown toggle switch under my dash that has something to do with this module and I'd love to know what/why.

Inside there is a relay with the power wire and the green wire going to a block shaped thing... sorry I can't be more descriptive..

Where do the wires from the box go to? Looks like the red one is going to a fuse, so I would guess 12v.

Aftermarket alarm?

Toggle switch is for vallet mode, maybe?

Red wire goes here:

Goes to the stud on the firewall, then two red wires go down into the harness towards the back of the engine on the left side of the distributor.

The Dark wire connects to this white wire within the same harness

This is a wide view of the firewall area, note that there is a lime green wire tyinginto the yellow/orange (w/ fuse) contraption, the lime green wire is connected to the toggle switch.

Also the green and blue wire in the module are not connected to anything, they are taped off at the ends

Just a stretch here but would this possibly have anything to do with a transmission shift kit?
I only ask because the fellow I bought the truck from mentioned it had one and the wires lead towards the transmission... just a thought.

I just did a 'shift kit' and it is all mechanical hardware change-out. I don't think our 700r4's had electrical/software upgrades. i.e. run by the T.V. cable.

The dark wire is connected to the fuel pump test wire. Not sure what you have going on. Will it still run if you disconnect this wire?

I'll try it out right now, as for the green wire, the wire had power to to, the ground on the toggle switch looks like it broke it's solder and hasn't been connected since I've owned this truck at least, which is a year now.

I reconnected the ground (or at least what I think is a ground), and when I toggle the switch I do not notice anything different as of yet..

Also I've found where the green and blue wires were tapped into, there is a wire harness that comes out from the firewall near the brake booster, the looming runs under the ABS module and the down the contour of the inner fender down towards the front end/bumper/below the remote oil filter area, the two wires that were tapped were a light brown/tan with no stripe and a lime green coloured wire.

Be careful connecting strange wires. You don't want the thing to notice be smoke and or flames! I had a nightmare of a wiring problem when I bought by ty. I had to remove an early '90's alpine alarm system from my ty. I was worried it would never start again, but it did and I feel better.

Looks like a half assed fuel pump hotwire job useing the test port for extra voltage. You said it was wired to a relay and a power source and probably a ground somewhere, so that is my guess.

ok so the green/orange splice job into that yellow wire has nothing to do with the box.

Anyone know what that yellow wire is for?

that yellow wire is for ic pump so i'm thinking they had a switch to turn it on and off
