Little help with next mods...

OK, so #0408 has the suspension, brakes, wheels and tires all completed. It's now time to move to exhaust and tuning. Already have the cai done...otherwise bone stock.

I'm not looking to make it radical or anything. But I'm thinking a nice 3-3.5" exhaust system and a tune (chip). Plan to keep the stock turbo and downpipe.

Here's the questions:

What tune?
What exhaust?

To make things easy. Go with the RPM cat back 3 inch. Make sure you throw in a 3 inch high flow cat and you will be ready to go. I had a 3 inch cat back fabricated at Mufflex in New Jersey a few years ago along with a Borla XR1 Sportsmant muffler and high flow cat. Truck ran so much better. The exhaust I had make looks just like the one RPM sells and a lot cheaper.

Your tune will stay the same unless you change your chip. Then you are looking at 3bar,fuel pump,and other things. Take a look at the 12 second recipe. Thats the route I first went with. I copied it to the tee and took it to the track and ran a 12:90 @103 on my first run. That is just my opinion if you want to keep it mostly stock and have a little more performance.

Your gonna have boost control issues if your turbo's stock with full 3" exhaust fyi. The wastegate side of the turbo won't be able to keep up with all the extra flow so be careful not to toast a piston. Most have to have the wastegate ported or external gate installed... if not upgradin the turbo.

IMO a catback exhaust on stock turbo is not going to gain you very much. If you want to get into tuning code $59 is the way to go or otherwise find some to help you tune your truck You should be able to get you Sy into the 12's with just a tune. My next step after a tuning is Alky injection.

where's a good place to get your 1st chip upgrade? Having trouble finding recent info on this. Looking for someone to tune my sy in GA
