Yea I will be very carefull. I don't want anything to happen to me or my truck. But I assure you I won't do anything stupid in it. I don't drive like most highschool kids....you know...weaving in and out of traffic....constantly going 20-25 over the limit...flooring it everywhere. I have paid for everything you see going onto this truck and I try my best to take good care of my things.

usually it's the kids that get everything handed to them that act the craziest on the road, now that's just a generalization, cause i paid for all my stuff and was known to rip the hell out of it from time to time.

Haha, seriously, this project is very tedious and time consuming. I would set aside a pretty good amount of time!

 What!? You can't put an LS2 in your GT until I get mine in! I wasn't even going to buy the engine until spring either. Oh well I guess. That just means that you get to work out all the kinks!...

...then finish my project for me. :D

you do realize that there are no automatic transmissions that will work with that motor, unless you plan of fabricating everthing? and the PCM is specific to that motor you need the factory harness and PCM for it to work

Damn, I dunno how an LT5 would fit. The LS1 is tight enough as it is. But I have seen people do big blocks in older s10's so I guess if your up for it it will work.

ANYWAYS, for an update....sorry I don't have any pics, I forgott to bring the camera over this morning but I'll give you guys an idea of where I'm at and get pics next weekend.

As of right now....fuel system is all ran and fuel cell is mounted in the bed along with the battery. Computer is mounted, core support is back on with a fresh coat of paint, tranny is hooked up, O2 sensors are extended for the headers and hooked up. I've got a cowl hood on the way for the GT as well :D

Basically, all we are doing right now is wiring stuff, we began going through the wiring alot about a week or two ago and weeded out alot of wires we don't need today. We have most of them labeled as well with the exception of a few connectors that are on the LS1 wiring harness.

I should have some pretty cool pictures next weekend so I'll make sure and post them. If everything goes right we should be able to start it up within the next few weeks!

Re: LS1-Sonoma GT build (updated with pics)

Hey guys, got some updated pics for ya.

LS1S-GTpics-13.jpg

Here's most of the wiring we removed out of the truck so far.

LS1S-GTpics-14.jpg

Picture of the lines and fuel pump mounted under the bed. We retained the stock lines that run along the frame and just changed out the filter.

LS1S-GTpics-12.jpg

Here is where we decided to mount the computer. We didn't have much choice of placement with the wires being so short on the LS1 harness but this position seems to work out pretty well.

LS1S-GTpics-11.jpg

Here we have the new relays mounted for the LS1.

LS1S-GTpics-15.jpg

We went ahead and put two triangular pieces in the crossmember to strengthen it as it looked abit weak before.

LS1S-GTpics-9.jpg

Fitting we had to put in the radiator for the vent hose.

LS1S-GTpics-10.jpg

Electric fans.(fit really well on the 4.3 radiator with minor modification) I know some other people have used this on their syclones and typhoons as well.

LS1S-GTpics-7.jpg

You can see the fuel cell and battery all mounted. The fuel system is all ran underneath as well all the way up to the pressure regulator on the inner fender.

LS1S-GTpics-8.jpg

New headlights, kinda bad picture but owell.

That's about it for this week. All we are doing right now is wiring. All the wires are sorted out and we have started soldering them so this thing very well may be running in a couple weeks. This weekend we are gonna get alot of wiring done and test fit fans, radiator, air intake system, ect. I also just got my catalytic converters and my dad had mufflers that were on his pro-street nova which he isn't using. So I will be using them and we will probably go buy pipe soon and build the exhaust as well.

Looking good. The fans look sweet. The radiator looks like its plastic. Is it?

It's just the stock 4.3 aluminum radiator that was on the truck. The sides are plastic though. (I wasn't sure if you were refering to it as a whole or what). We aren't gonna use the tranny fluid or oil cooler though. My dad had a tranny cooler laying around in a box of stuff so we are jsut gonna throw that in front of the condensor.

Thanks for comments guys!
