LT5 Syclone Project?

I think this Typhoon will be done by the end of next summer and definately want to do a Syclone build. This Ty is stock so the Sy would be the custom toy. Since I am out shopping for parts I might as well keep an eye on things for the next project.

Has anyone done a LT5 + 6-speed in a Sy/Ty (C4 ZR1 engine + tranny and brakes)? I wanted to stay with something frrom the same years the Sy/Ty's were built but if the LSX or more modern V8 is a lot better then would go that route. A lot better meaning driving experience, married up with a 6-speed, and would get autocross suspension/brakes. Wonder if the ZR1 rear suspension would work out nice?

There was a dealership up here who had a complete LT5. I think I bought my house for less than they wanted though.

Something tells me that if you actually came up with the money to buy a donor ZR1 you'd end up driving it and then keeping it.

14 grand for the complete motor, wiring, computer, trans, bell housing, and clutch really isn't outrageous for that motor.

There are a few engines only on ebay for $2800 and $5500 (buy it now). By the time I went through the engine, computer found, tranny and tune yea 12-14K into something like that easy.

As much fun as a ZR-1 of that time would be to drive I can't do the Michael Jackson red leather interrior and knight rider dash....I like Sy/Ty analog.

U can probably buy a complete LS7 for the same price of an LT5.

I LOVE that motor.....got to drive a 08 Z06 (well...not 100% drive like I wanted to) and was the most fun I had ever had next to a NASCAR driving school. I think there is a driving school out there that uses noting but the Z06. For some reason the LT5 seems just right on the torque/HP and that LS7 may be too much for the autocross or road track.
