Moates Ostrich 2.0 - socket booster

Quickstop [UK]

Combating adversyty.
I have had the Ostrich in my truck for a few years now. I installed it with the G1 adaptor. I was just reading the Moates site and they seem to recommend using the socket booster as well.

Does anyone else use it? I thought the G1 adaptor was all that was needed.

Quote from Moates site:
"Note: When using with 24-pin GM applications, you MUST use a Socket Booster!
(available separately). "

We are 28 pin.
I guess you could use one and it would work, but it is mostly for 24 pin GM applications.

The only problems I have ever seen with a Moates product was with the fine wire connection ribbon cables sometimes get pinched and shorted due to placement next to sharp edges. - Also, and this is even rare, it does need a battery like once a decade or so.

I purchase the 6" ribbon cable and velcro the Ostrich 2.0 right to the ECM bracket next to the Drac.
Another Quote from Moates site: "The SocketBooster remedies this issue by essentially amplifying and conditioning the signal. In many cases, the same effect can be achieved by using a short emulation cable, such as the 6″ EMUC2806 we sell."

I put mine in the glove box, seemed like it allowed the ribbon cable to be nicely relaxed instead of scrunching it behind the dash and run the risk of breaking a wire
