Ok so i finally get my truck up and running (syclone) with its new mods: KB FPR, KB CAI, KB air foil, 3bar map, ulitmate chip, walboro fuel pump, jabsco ic pump with duel spal fans, new (oem) cap/rotor/plug & wires, gauges (oil pressure, fuel pressure, boost, ic temp). Ok so i set the fuel pressure to around 43 with the vacume hose disconnected from the fpr. Truck idles goofy for a min or two, but then smooths out fine (first time started in about 2 months). So i take it for a ride with my laptop hooked up for the first time. First i notice that i have a knock count of 690 and i didnt even move. So i start moving (coolant temp is up to 88C). I am driving around fine. Feels good (no boost yet) smooth just like before. So i build a little boost and i notice the KC goes up 100counts. Hit 6psi that time. So i notice just about evertime i get above 6psi i get knock (happened about 7 times in a 5min run stopping each time i saw knock). I also get the Prem. Fuel field getting a 1 every time i get knock. I was wondering what this was. For reference my truck has 40k garaged its whole life and has 1/2 tank of 3month old 93 octane fuel with no boosters (i think this is the problem). What do you guys think. My plan as of now is to mix 3 gallons of toulene with 3 gallons of 94 octane and take it easy for a half a tank. (sorry for being so long.)

A few things come to mind at first thought.

Old gas - isn't the best thing to have in there for testing. I would drive till it is empty - then refill.

I wouldn't worry about any additives just yet - see what you get with good gas.

I think the fuel pressure with the Ultimate is supposed to be set at 45lbs.

Pull your ECM Fuses for 30 seconds - reinstall - let the truck idle for a couple minutes - then go for a drive.

Did you piggyback the stock chip to the Ultimate?

read the instructions I have posted on the web: www.chitownsyty.com - tech section

Set your FP to 50 base with the chip, then tune from there.

After doing way too much work to cars, it is good advice to do things in stepwise fashion. Do your gauges one weekend... do cold air kit another... etc. Otherwise you change about 127 things, have problems and have no clue what caused it.

If you change a chip, and are running fine before hand, then have problems afterwards... it is easy to determine what is causing issues.

Ok i think i found the problem. First i had the datamaster set to a 2 bar map....after i changed it to a 3bar it showed the proper boost levels. I was getting knock at 10psi not 6psi. And i believe the reason was because my ic pump wasnt working as well as bad gas. I drove the truck about 100miles tonight not giving it any boost, and it ran perfect. After i fix the ic pump and but some good gas in it i think ill be set. I hope to get it running good sat.
