It took me a little over four years to think up a kick-ass personalized plate for the Typhoon. I ordered them up online a few weeks ago and waited patiently for that letter the DMV sends you to say your plates are ready to pick up. I thought it would be that letter, the one that came today, that is. But it wasn't that letter. Instead I got a "HA!! NO EFFEN WAY YOU BIG FAT LOOSER!! HA!!" from the DMV. Well, not in those words but that was the way I felt when I read this:

Your request for Environmental Licence Plate configuration "N3MES1S" has recieved in this office for review.

We are unable to approve the requested plate configuration.( :squint: ) This plate configuration is unacceptable as numbers shall not be substituted for letters and letters shall not be substituted for numbers to create another configuration with a similar appearance. ( :fist: Mmm, take that Steve!!)

A charge back in the amount of $41.00 will be applied to your credit card account. Please allow up to 60 days for the credit to show on your statement. ( :roll: Hey, sure. Thanks. Take your time.)

Thank you for your interest in the California Environmental License Plate Program. (Yeah, up yours!! :tup: )

IMO this has got to be one of the stupidest rules I have ever heard!! Well, yeah... I used numbers because the damned letters I wanted weren't available to spell out the word I wanted, duh!!! So, what?? Numbers are numbers, letters are letters. NEWS FLASH!!!: Some numbers look like letters. That is just the way it is.

Seriously, can anyone think of why our screwed up state (or any state, at that) would make up such a rule? Why?

Dang, that sucks man. I'm getting ready to send off for my plates also. I hope I don't receive the same letter or I'll be PISSED!!!

damn steve!!! first teddy, now this??? dude just put the license plate frame from the nissan on the typhoon and call it a day. :lol:

Mine's still commin', I think. No DMV letter yet either way. Last time I checked it was "Unavailable" so we'll see.

hey dont feel bad atleast they didnt give them to you, then send a news crew to your house and tell you how offensive your plate was to the community... IN long island NY about 2 years ago a guy with a convertable cobra had TOPLESS on his plate they made him return them and put him on the news doing a burn out

I just ordered veteran plates that say SRT NOT for my new Sy. I hope i get them soon. 8-12 weeks is a long time to wait. Paul Z.

I was surprised that I got "Syanide" for mine. Thought for sure that the state of Florida would take it the wrong way.

didnt someone try to get "VETTKLR" and they got denied cause the DMV said people might think theyre refering to war vet's. :lol:

my friend tried to get "GTNBLWN" for his Firehawk and got denied. but ive seen "ADIOS MF" on a vette.... go figure. I brought in a dictionary when i went to the DMV to get my plate just in case they tried to give me any shit. whos the guy in here with the log in name "Phoontang" haha i wonder if you could get away with that for a plate... "FOONTNG" :lol:

Hmm...I'm in California and they had no problem giving me 0 60 IN 3. I feel lucky now.

hehe now yo can try NEMES15 keep it real, the fact is you cannot substitute a number for a letter as stated by CA's dumbass law/rule. 0 60 IN 3 but if you had tried 0260in3 or 02601n3..maybe not so lucky. Sounds like each set of letters or numbers must have an individual meaning, thats all. Say that your nickname is Neme, pronounced "knee-me" and your trucks an S-15 lol i dont know :)

Not yet. Not since that last one last week. I was kinda hopeing for another email tho because those lines that she or whomever fed me were funny! If it's someone playing a joke on me, they haven't said anything yet. So maybe thats it... :dunno:

I saw (PH Q 2) on a porsche. I guess the dmv proofers in SC aren't too sharp.
