I know this is not the place to be putting this but for once my ty is running great. My problem is with my second car. I really just need some info. I have 92 gti 16v. I purchased 11:1 compresion pistons for it and installed a set of weber carbs. My problem is this a stock 16v has upwards of 165 compression, with my new set up I was expecting close to 200. I am getting 120. I have made several calls to piston manufactorers, Half of them tell me it will take 1000 miles for them to seat and get the right compression the otheer half tell me it should get very close to what it should be right away. So now I have no idea. Is it possible that I could be losing over 70 pound simply from the rings not fully seating. I am just trying to figure out if the machine shop shaved my rings too much or boared my block too much. One last thing is how can I find out for sure if im losing comp through the block or the head.
I know this is not the site for it but I just need some real answers.
I have talked with alot of vw sites and Half the time I dont even get responses. The other half is usually some kid wondering why I pulled the fuel injection out.

Piston's

I modified a 85' VW Scirocco, bumped it up from 1.8 liter to a 2 liter with new piston's, camshaft, and a shaved head for much higher compression. I never experienced the problem you are having, I do know when you modify these motor's that sometime's your goal might be higher than what is realistic. Have you tried Vwvortex.com in their A2 forum? Many people have probably gone through what you trying to accomplish. Also try Darrell at Techtonic's Tuning in Oregon, they have helped me with all my VW's that have been modified the last 12 year's.
