New Here

Hey I felt it was time to introduce myself. My name is Josh. I'm currently looking for a SY/TY just waiting to find the right one for the right price at this time. I'm just not ready to drop the big bucks on a mint one because I want a little bit of a project. Its just my nature to want to fix something to make it my own.

I'm a GM, Audi, ASE tech that’s always working on something. Here are my two current cars/projects lol they are never done.

.... because I want a little bit of a project.

oh dont worry, they are ALL a little bit of a project :rotf:

Welcome to the site  You will soon be sucked into the nightmare of SyTy Ownership.

Do you have a preference on a Sy or a Ty? Year of Ty? Color? Mileage? Price? Stock or Modified? We pretty much keep tabs on all the SyTys that are on eBay, Craigslist, Autotrader, local papers, dealerships ect, not to mention people are more than willing to check out trucks if they aren't exactly close to you.

Re: New Here

Hey Josh, welcome to the board. I can almost certainly assure you it will be a project, and sometimes just a plain PITA. Also you may want to have AAA towing, just for those unexpected emergencies. Well all jokes aside, look for a while and be patient, sometimes it takes a while to find the right truck for you. The good news is that it's definitely a buyer's market right now. As much of a headache as they can be, it is also priceless to pull up to a modern, much more expensive car and blow their doors off. Anyways good luck with your search and welcome!

ya 1st off they have to be black!!!! haha. I would like a SY over a TY but if a deal comes up that I cant let go I will take a TY as well. I think I will have better luck finding a TY for the price I want to pay as well. I'm looking to spend at most like 5K this is all I can move right now with just getting the FD ready for the track here I have dumped some good money into it for road racing. I know this may not be a range to find something for a little bit I'm willing to wait. As for stock or not I dont care I will clean up the work till its what I want. That would have been nice to know I just searched I kid you not all of Craigs list state and city by city.

you have excellent taste in projects
Thanks I like to have intresting and unique cars. That is what really catches my intrest. I have sence then done 3 LS1 FD's I love them lol.

I own a British sports car I know about cars that are a handful. I see most cars that are a PITA as just something needing some TLC. Yes the AAA guys know me here from breaking stuff at the track. I hope the buyers market will help me find one of these trucks; I have had the bug for one for years now its time to act on it.

Re: New Here

In 20 years, the RX-7, like the Porsche 944, will still look modern. Nice car. Don't see too many on the road anymore. :(

Re: New Here

I know it sure does not look like a 93 year model car does it? I mean just think of what the Camaro and vett looked like in 93 haha.

Re: New Here

try the helper, captain i think you'll like it more, you can edit the area you want to search within states cities or miles or the whole US, put in keywords you don't want, min and max prices, topics to search.

works awesome, found several sy/ty in northern WA and southern OR lately. nice stuff, and relating parts to sy/ty fro sale

yea that does have a nicer search format, takes a little getting used to with how it displays the results, but it definately has less duplicate listings too, good call

Re: New Here

I bet that Rx7 is fun to drive with an LS1.

I see you're auto-xing. Badass!! I have a neon ACR that I auto-xed for a couple years. I need to get back into that.

Re: New Here

ya the RX7 is not really the auto X car. Its hard to put down 400RWHP in some of these parking lots we use even with R comps. I use the MG for auto X.
