No PCM detected??

Trying to Datalog my Ty. I've been using Datamaster and Tunerpro all year and now it won't connect. Here's the message it says.

The ALDL adapter is working, but no PCM was detected.
Check the cable connections between the Adaptor box
and the PCM. This can also occur if the Datamaster version
is incorrect for the vehicle.

I'm using a USB ALDL cable and Ostrich for Code59. I pulled down the ECM to check the Ribbon cable and was still connected. Also checked the ECM fuses which were good.

The AFR while idling Is now Rich in the 10's. Not sure why this happened when it just ran great at the track.

Things I can think of are, Bad USB ALDL Cable, Bad Ribbon Cable, Bad Ostrich emulator, Bad ECM?

Thank you!!

Re: No PCM detected??

I had a similar problem where mine would connect and while driving go in and out of limp mode. It turned out to be a bad ribbon from Ostrich to PCM. Moates said they had received some bad ones and I had to get a replacement. He also said I could use pliers to crimp the connector where the ribbon attaches since that was where the problem was. I did this and it has worked ever since and the replacement I bought is in the glove box just in case.

Re: No PCM detected??

I tried a New Ribbon cable, Emulator and ECU and still won't connect. Not sure why this is happening when it worked fine last Monday and at the Track. I didn't drive the Ty till I went to start it on Sunday. Now I have issues.

Re: No PCM detected??

I replaced the prom adapter, ribbon, prom and ecm before I called Moates and they had me re-crimp the ribbon. That has been over a year ago so it seems they would have fixed the problem by now. Just an option to look at.

Did you check the aldl port? Also maybe look for a thread with dig talking about wiring the aldl connector closer to the ECM...

Re: No PCM detected??

I would be $5 the bin file got corrupt on the ostrich, ecm isn't running off the bin and now in limp mode hence high AFR. Without a proper bin there is nothing to communicate with.

Sean, long shot in the dark.... I recall having communication issues and had to go into the computer and assign the USB location on computer for it to communicate.

Its been a while for me too. I could be completely off or wrong.

Re: No PCM detected??

I've tried everything in the rainbow. I got it running back to normal last night and everything connected. Then it won't connect anymore. Goin to try some more stuff soon. Its hard to explain exactly what I've done since I've tried so many different combos with new code59 equipment/cables. and its very frustrating being that its been fine all summer and now I can't even figure this out.

I did try a different bin and xdf files. Like I said, I got it to connect and run great last night and my dad even took a video on his phone. Then went south.

Thanks,

Re: No PCM detected??

Well, I guess Jeff called it. The Bin I was using was corrupt and went into Limp mode. If I upload an older (same style) tune, it uploaded and connected fine. I just tried another Bin Rob set me for the Track and ran great, so Rob was saying maybe it was something on his end.
