Noob from Maryland

Greetings!

I just want to introduce myself my names Brett i'm from Silver Spring Maryland and owner of 92 ty # 1830 Green / Grey 40k miles. I remember the 1st time I seen the Sy / Tys, (back in high school) and always wanted one, so 20 years later I picked up my dream truck!

I have only owned the truck for a few months and she was stock when I got her. So far I had the chip reprogrammed, a tune done, fuel pump / pump sending unit replaced and shes running pretty good!, i'm looking to do some mods, I really enjoy driving this truck and my wife can't stand it , (like every women if it takes .001% of the attention away from her) but yea where do I go from here put in a RPM exhaust? I would love some input from you guys!

1. With a budget around a grand, what mods should I start upgrading with?

2. Can anyone recommend a good shop, someone who KNOWS these trucks or that you would recommend? (Maryland, VA area and not ****ING BUBBA lol)

3. So I get this shaking (front end) when I hit around 60-65 sometimes doesn't happen all the time, any suggestions on this? a guy my pops knows said it could be wheel balancing, any thoughts? its got the stock wheels.

4. Any of you guys from Maryland area? be nice to meet up with some fellow Sy/Ty owners!

1. $1000 of mods: http://powertuneplus.com/

2. Cant help ya since Im in FL

3. Could be wheels. Could be the propshaft too. Remove the p.shaft and go for another drive, see if it stops.

4. See Answer #2.

The shaking at 60 mph is very likely tire balance. Find a shop that does ROAD FORCE BALANCING and you should be good to go. If it still shakes, it's something else and prob more involved. Start with the easiest.

Welcome. Post up some pics! (open photobucket account, upload photos to account, copy IMG code into a post)

Is that roof rack from a 93?
TeeTopz, I'm not sure if its from a 93, hell I've read that they came off the assembly lines with some minor different variations? (some had that rear odd spoiler on back window if I remember correctly) maybe someone else can varify that. I plan on removing it eventually not a big fan of the look, or maybe if the original owner of #1830 is a member / fellow member that could fill us in! that be great too, bought her up in Penny last year.

Some '92 Tys came from the dealer with the newer roof rack.

I have also seen photos of a few '93s that have the older style roof rack; I assume they had that style from the dealer because who would swap a roof rack instead of just deleting it?

To the OP: welcome, nice Ty!

Re: Noob from Maryland

I went to Katie's last weekend, got there a little late though as most people had left.

Welcome to the club btw. I'm right over in across the line in NOVA.

I'm up for a meet sometime...

ill have to let you guys know when im in MD over summer (fiance is from/family lives in frederick) we go out twice a year

Re: Noob from Maryland

You should have a 3'' exhaust on the TY, so you might be good there. I'd check the inter cooler pump to see if its running, if not that would be a good item to replace. Looks like you got a nice truck there.
