Oil cooler and lines options

What kind of optionws do we have aside from stock? My lines started leaking, so I was gonna just ditch all the stock shit and by a sbc relocate kit and use that without a cooler. But when doing the search, some said you have to have a cooler. So my options are...... 1 keep it all stockish, 2 go sbc relocate kit, 3 go sbc relocate kit with extra cooler, 4 hybrib system of some sort. What is your opion and is there other options I didn't think of. I'm not worried too much about the "stock" look either. :) Thanks.....

I added a after market cooler to my existing one. You almost can't remove enough heat from your oil.

Standard SBC adaptor for block is much larger in diameter than 4.3. Not sure if they sell a smaller one (i would hope so) just something to watch I ran into when doing the SBC in my truck and trying to use the stock adaptor from the syty.

I personally would tap or weld on some -08 fittings to stock block adaptor, run braided to a remote filter/cooler.

go pull the brass nipple out of a newer one with the cooler but the filter mounted on the block. i got mine off an 03 setup. took a 10mm allen key. threaded right into my block no more lines or cooler.

I think there is a difference in those blocks, you said in an other post you have a '67 block right? If that is the case I think they changed from a canister style to a spin on style starting in '68. Or I may be way off...... :dunno:

Re: Oil cooler and lines options

I bought a Really cool billet oil relocation kit and made it work on my typhoon and its still there. here it is on Ebay

all i did was buy a oil filter screw in tube that goes into the engine block from dealer and screwed this on added braided hoses and stuff..

if you want pics let me know..

The worst part was getting a filter but now i know the number is not that bad

here is another kit with hoses
