Re: only a matter of time

Hard to get any kind of warranty on a 700r4 when you put any kind of power to it. Even with a "stage 3" or "bullet proof" build these are week transmissions. My "bullet proof" Waller trans only came with a low mile warranty, but so far so good. Regardless of that, 500 miles you should not have had any issues and if it's a mechanical issue it should be taken care of by any reputable builder. Let us know how it works out...

The way I look at it is if you you build it yourself you are the only one to blame and plus you learn something. If you get somebody to do it don't make an ass of yourself by posting a bad comment about the company when in reality you don't even know what the problem is. Try to work everything out and then if nobody wants to help then you can say something. If not you just look like an asshat.

Re: only a matter of time

Im a little confused on why running the converter "unlocked" will be more damaging to the trans on dyno pulls etc? Powerglides hold thousands of horsepower and they dont have a locking converter. TH400's dont have a locking converter.

The 700 is proven to be a weak link when making any kind of power. Hell the stock motor doesnt have too much trouble putting the 700 to waste. Some things just dont work no matter how much money you throw at them. Put a 4l80/TH400 in it and be done.

In a way these threads get on my nerves because this sounds to be a case of someone who wanted a hot rod, so they wrote a big check for one to be built and then wasnt happy with the way it was done. To me thats not hot rodding at all and im not sorry for anyone in that situation. Hopefully people learn the lesson "if you want it done right do it yourself."

There isnt a "make my truck run 11's and never break" KIT you can buy. Anyone who has a truck that fast knows it will break. Not might break, but will break. As Larry Kopp used to say "when you break the monkey parts, put gorilla parts in it".

Re: only a matter of time

wow...all this on a sunday? c'mon guys.

both sides have said their peace. This needs to be settled OFF the forum between vetteandtyphoon and greffet.

enough finger pointing and name calling. If you are upset, fine. But bashing the vendors, especially when you don't even know what happened to the trans yet, is just uncalled for.
