picked up a ty intake

just got a complete intake off a ty and im looking at the throttle valve.. it looks it might be the same as a t,p,i, valve off a camaro or a vette can anyone out there confirm this?

SyTys use the standard L-98 throttle body, found on older Vettes and F-Bodys

It is a 89-92 L98 TPI style Throttle Body

Yes, but the linkage is much different. The TPS is also different, with a different electrical connector. And different things are open and/or plugged off in the TB passages.

I tried to use an BBK F-Body TB in my Ty and it wouldn't match up, so I had to turn it back in and get a SyTy specific BBK TB, which Summit carries. Not exactly cheap at $350.-400.

i was thinking the same thing about a bbk.. also i was wondering about the linkage too,do you have a part# for the bbk ty throttle valve?

I grew up there also - went to Villanova. Found the old BBK box and it says 1551 - "Twin 58 mm LT-1, 1991-93 Typ".
