I'm using Eagle forged Rods, J & E Extreme Duty .020" forged pistons, new stock crank in a Bowtie 4 bolt block. It appears that the stock, supposedly forged, rods really suck, so I would be sure to get rid of those. My J&E's give me an 8.5/1 CR.

Yeah the stock rods are going. All I have is a bare casting for a block and a crank. I think I may send them to http://www.onecryo.com. Then start to work. Im trying to find some one is dallas that has something to clean this block up.

What pistons do you like the most. Bang for buck or money doesnt matter. I notice you use trw a lot. How much are those?

If I may chime in, the SRPs are the best bang for the buck. They balance alot easier then the TRW's due to the light weight, much better quality, and the price is not much more. Plus the SRP line has a bit more silicone then JE which is nice for street driven motors, as they wont make as much noise as a forged JE piston. they are rated around 100hp per piston.

hope that helps. FYI, I'll match pricing on JE/SRP pistons.

I agree with mike thats why I used SRP's in my own motor....but PPL have seen and heard about the TRW's for so long, thats what they have been convinced works best..... SRP's are much lighter and stronger than TRW's but they do cost a little more........IMO...SRP all the way. JE's are way more expensive and not really meant for street driving...

Call Waller or myself. i know one of us will be able to match or beat Jegs pricing. Then not only are you saving, but you are helping support the syty vendors :)

Thanks. I will do that. A friend of mine is selling a complete Sy motor. This is going to be used for my build up. How much should I offer him for it?
