I am looking to find a good set of pistons and rods for my truck, i plan on buying parts over the summer and rebuilding this winter. i am looking for a close to stock rebuild with better than stock parts. Where and what brand should i get and about how much are they gonna run? Anyone have a list somewhere of a complete rebuild, parts and what not? :-?

Eagle rods are pretty much the standard. There are others like Carillos that are lighter, and of course more expensive. Haven't heard of anyone bending the Eagles...yet. Good rods, especially when price is factored in.

TRWs are also the standard still for pistons I believe. They are a little on the heavy side, but their weight contributes to their strength. There are lighter alternatives like SRPs and JEs for more money. A Eagle/TRW combo with the proper supporting cast is plenty strong for all but the wankiest builds though. For a a close to stock rebuild with better than stock parts that combo is a done deal. Do the four bolt mains for insurance and you're off to the races. Good luck.
