Planning ahead...

Well, I'm starting to plan ahead a little bit on some future modifications. For the most part, to see about where I stand with what I think I need. For reference, I want to do a mild upgrade, still driveable daily if needed but able to go strong when I want it to. I want just enough additional "oomph" to beat a stock ty.

This year I'm finishing up a few things:
new cat-back
turbo/WG adjustments & tuning(trying to get it right... practice makes perfect, I hope)
misc. cosmetic repairs.
walboro fuel pump... if it ever comes in, this probably belongs in the coming soon

Coming soon:
PTE 44 turbo & downpipe(most likely one of the last things)
external WG(any recommendations on that?)
160 thermostat
IC pump, unless the hotwiring works just as well
boost controller
datamaster... I'm working on rebuilding a PC laptop now actually
new boost guage, once I figure out where to put it because I can't stand the pillar cluster.

Well, I've tried to get as much homework done as I could, and that's the plan at this point. Anyone see something missing, or something that is going far beyond what I'm looking for?

Re: Planning ahead...

Questions,

How much $$$ does the propshaft run, and how does it improve over the original... just more strength or does it add more performance?

And what TC? 3000 stall would be my intial thought.

And tuning kinda goes without saying.

Re: Planning ahead...

Propshaft is about $400, it's just stronger. Not sure what kind of Turbo / WG adjustments you need. Use the internal WG if your getting the PTE kit.

Fresh Tuneup - Plugs / Wires / Cap / Oil / Trans fluid & Filter & maybe a larger pan.
Datamaster / Romulator / TunerCatRT - very important.
AFPR - PTE or KB
Propshaft / Driveshaft loops. Saftey mod.
Port upper & lower intake. - FREE
Port exhaust man & Turbo. - FREE
Hotwire IC pump - FREE
Replace stock hard IC lines with heater hose.
Top Engine Clean formula (Sea Foam)

That should keep you busy for a while.

How is this free? Is this an easy do-it-yourself thing? I wouldn't know where to start.

Re: Planning ahead...

I didn't know it was possible to port a turbo... guess you learn something new every day.

As for the manifolds, I'll have to look around on more info on that, could be a distinct possiblity. That and I like FREE alot.
