since I live in MI I would definently have to go.

I went to KC a couple years back and had a good time but was really surprised how little trucks showed up. I know its not the committees fault or anything and I see where they get at where they say its a central location and its fair for everybody, but in reality not many long distance people show up (where is the CA people?) Of course there are the NASTE and I applaud them for always making it out, but I would believe they would go even if nats were in MI, along with many other people (more MI folks, theres a lot of us, ChiTown, etc..)

Whats so wrong about badmitton? lol. I like'd playing that in highschool. I was rather good at it too I might add.

What is the distance difference from where you guys are talking about vs where the nats is currently? I really dont care where its at to be honest. I just wish everyone could just pick one place and stop moving it.

I'd be motivated to bring my engineering truck if there's a chance some PAS/GM guys would remember it. Dreading a 4 hour drive through Chicago already...

You know Stokes? I wondered if he was still in Michigan, the last I heard he was working for Toyota. If he showed up I would have to bring one of his "babies" home to see him.

He isn't really invovled in SyTy anymore but he is still around. I used to have his phone number, but never got a chance to call/meet him. Last I heard he was in MI though.

yep he does minimal work for bird out at flow technologies and works at toyota

....Jim Stokes is around (and may be involved with turbo`d motorcycles).

ANYWAYS, It sounds like Michigan could offer:
-PAS and knowledgeable factory personnel attendance
-A "friendly" track for rule NHRA interpretation
-The possiblity of more trucks (GLG< Canada, Illinois/Chitown, Midwest, Eastern and Southerners)
-Maybe Magazine attention (hotrod, carcraft)
-Possible tours of car museums or proving grounds

Keep the ideas flowing guys, as I like the idea of making a SyTy Gathering (call it what you will
if Nationals terminology is taken) which might attact a larger audience of trucks. Especially
if a great hotel like the doubletree in KC could be found.

I think there will problems for any sanctioned track for rule interpretations if enough complaints are made to the different sanctioning body levels.

with our luck the tranny in the boat would blow up puncturing the hull and sinking with all the trucks on there (in typical syty fashion)
