I have been having trouble getting on the forum sometimes. I can type in syty.net and it says site not found on my computer and my phone says safari couldn't find. I would say in the last 2 weeks it has been doing this 9 out of 10 times typing in the web site I tried being sneaky and going through yahoo but when I click on the link its the same message

I use Opera as a browser and experienced some problems. I could get to the home page but if I clicked on a thread...no go. I switched to Chrome and same thing. Internet Explorer seems to work every time. But I hate IE and rarely use it. It is only sometimes in the last 2 weeks as you described.????

Same thing here, Rob.

damn, thought it was just me, having the same problems here also. Was almost going to fire up the old computer to see if it was happening with that one also.

No issues here. Using Cyberfox. But then again I just did a complete reinstall of W8.1. But no trouble before either. One desktop, no additional fancy hardware. ISP is Comcast.

Same problem here. I can usually view the main page without problems, but anything other than the main page seems to be having intermittent issues.

One thing to note is that for some reason when the forum doesn't work normally, I can usually still view it through a proxy.

Mine is all or nothing.

Seems when I receive an email notification about a subscribed thread, it'll let me in.

Re: problems with site?

OK everyone here's some things to try. Since I am not having any issues I suspect that some of these problems may not be at syty.net.

Flush your DNS cache. This can cure all kinds of weird browser issues. One of many:

https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/CKB/How+To+Clear+Your+DNS+Cache

You can also clear your browser ram cache. Somewhat different with each browser.

And if you're really having difficulty across the board with connection issues you can try this.

Search reset tcp/ip

One of many:

http://www.windows-secrets.co.uk/2013/08/repair-the-windows-87vista-tcpip-stack/

It's somewhat different with XP. Just search reset tcp/ip XP.

Re: problems with site?

It's got something to do with the DNS lookup. You can change your dns lookup servers to use Google servers and it should work. It does in my WiFi connection. I can't change the servers on my S4 data connection, though.

They're 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Try it and see what happens.

Re: problems with site?

I'm pretty sure it's the site, it's been working maybe half of the times I've brought it up and 479 F5s later it still doesn't work. This includes wifi in 5-6 different places and phone's net on multiple devices. It comes up as trouble displaying the page.
