Propshaft Bolts

Hey Guys,

I got the 10.8 Hex-head bolts for the Propshaft - tough to find. I also got some new stockers (they're cheap) in case I couldn't get a wrench on the big heads on the rear bolts.

I was able to get a wrench on the rears by turning the shaft once and torqued to 52 Ft-#'s. From the manual it seems to be the same Ft-#'s for the Frt & Back, which is a little surprising. Did U guys use washers or Threadlocker (Blue-Medium) or anything ?

Did U use the Red, real tight - or the Blue, Medium tight ? I've always been a little afraid of the Red - I FU'ed some Bilstein shock threads one time w it.

Yeah, don't use red unless you're planning on using a torch to get them off... Red LocTite releases at about 400 degrees...

Blue. Won't come out unless you want it to. I put it on, let it set up for a minute and then install it. Red....Use a torch or you'll snap the head off the bolt  Not that I've done that 8)
GM has this orange stuff on Torque converter bolts.
I've used blue on them to and never had one back out or vibrate loose.
