PTE DP w Jet Hot ?

Hey Guys,

Have any of U PTE DPer's Jet Hotted your DP ? I did and now trying to fit it up and I've expanded it about as good as I can w an expender.

But can't get the part w the dump on it to slide all the way on the upper portion of the pipe.

PTE recommends I remove the Jet coating back a couple of inches. Did U guys do that ?

Nope just expanded it until it fit well.

I also slit the end of the pipes just less than the width of the clamp. Helps the clamps pull the pipe down tight.

Pat - So U sawed the slots down further - Yeh that would help let it stretch out.

you can slot it further or add another slot and it will expand alot. Or you can sand off the coating with a wire wheel to get the pipe to slide up further.

I dunno about your pipes but the way you say "slot if furthur" leads me to believe that your pipes came from PTE slotted.

Mine didn't.

Yes, mine came from PTE w slots on the larger ends. I extended them down ~ 1" total and it finally went together, however the 2-bolt band clamp was tough to get on w no room the work.

Got the rest of the pipe put together - had to remove the Cat Conv mount to get the Cat Conv back far enuf to push all the pipes together. Sits in there real solid. Now we'll see if it bangs anywhere.

My bangs against the frame...and also leaks under the band clamp... its not the best fit as of right now. Hope to fix later.
