So last ngith Im out with my favorite little TSI chick and I get this call from a friend of mine and she tells me the there is a Skyline running around telling everyoen he wants race me. SO I tell her that if she sees him out to tell him to meet me somewhere and well do it for sure. So we end up meeting up at one of popular raceways and he telsl me that hes only running 3 psi cause his motor from Japan hasnt gotten here yet. This is a righthand drive car , very wierd to see. So we go line em up at the light. It hits green and I only left with 10psi due to no brakes left. He never recovered at all and I got him by atleast 6 cars. He also brought along , no shit at all, 20 or so other cars to watch the beat down. I got it on cam but the retard filmiong only got our roofs when we drove by :roll: . Rookies. He also told me is rear drive and the motor coming dynoed at 400 or some shit. We plan on running again when he gets his motor from Japan. I cant wait.

There was one of those running around here for awile...I saw it race a few times and was not too impressed. Definatly not what it is hyped to be, at least not this one. I mean he got worked BAD by a stage III SRT-4 and some N/A rice wasn't loosin too bad. I think he sold it for some crazy 700Hp EVO, which I have yet to see.

I don't get it. A right hand drive car, obviously imported from Japan, but he's waiting on a motor from Japan. Does it have a turbocharged Saab motor from Sweden in it?

Exactly what I was trying to get at. How do you get a J-Spec car without the J-Spec motor? What would be the point of it?:dunno: The stock R33 came with a Twin Turbo 6 and AWD I believe the R33 GT-R is actually fast than the R34 putting out 0-60 times under 5 and the 1/4 somewhere in the 13s. Not too bad and if I paid the money to get it imported you better believe I'd have the J-Spec motor in it.

I think the R33 is only lighter then the other models. :dunno:

I would like to have one. Because its one of the few imports that look good. I dont think I could deal with the right hand drive though, that would take some time getting used to.:roll:

Yup just lighter but I agree it is one of the few Japanese imports I actually like. Right hand drive :tdown: The Tommy Kaira ZZII is another at the top of my list for Japanese imports! Another Twin Turbo Inline 6/AWD but in a 1500lb with 550HP and left hand drive. Check it out http://fast-autos.net/tommykaira/tkzztwo.html .

The Tommy is a great and light hybrid running the Nissan RB26DETT AWD drivetrain and uprated management and turbos. The R34 N1 block and heads are used as well as some of their other mods.
The R33 you were racing might have been imported sans engine in order to make import possible due to the odd laws affecting these cars.It seems alot of these Skylines that are making their way stateside are often quite worn the hell out or have had most of their tuning goodies robbed off of them anf slapped back together with whatever makes them run..........running crappy at best until a knowledgable tuner gets his hands on it that is. A stock R33 GT-R ( Not Gt-S, 2WD) has 320 Hp if prooperly tuned but is a heavy car and isn't super fast at that point.
However, swap out turbos and injectors,cams and better management and tuning and 750-1000 HP is VERY obtainable. Albeit that the transmission will require whats known as a "crossmission" gear upgrade at this point, or better still a Hollinger race six-speed. That is basically all the mods I'm doing to my RB26DETT AWD drivetrain thats going into my Datsun 240-Z widebody.
If he gets that car dialed in and isn't afraid of it........your going to have to spend alot of cash on your Typhoon to hang .

I tried to import a car several years ago. I was told by the BMV that the motor had to come separate from the car. They used emissions regulations as the problem. It could have had a different motor in it than the RB26DETT. Either way, nice kill on the Japanese Hot Rod.

Yeah I got calls from three different people the next day saying they heard about my race. One of these peole was a friend of mine from Ft Collins which has to be 160 miles from here. It was awsome. Too bad I got killed by that WS6 rigth after. I shouldve raced him when noone else was around.

Seeing as it was two wheel drive, it more than likely had an RB25DET. He also could have been BS'ing and the thing could just be a plain jane GTS. Even the GTS-T's aren't the best performers.

Reguardless, it sounds like a case of someone thinking their car is hot shit just because it's a Skyline. Tell him to get the RB26DETT in it, and then come see you.
