There are TWO possible radios in a Syclone. Both have a Cassette. UM6 is no equalizer, and was standard, no-cost in the Syclone. UX1 has equalizer and AM-STEREO, and was a $150 option in Syclone.
Quote from an old thread.
You can read it here.
One of the few changes on my fairly original Syclone #2967 made by previous owners is the radio. It has an aftermarket unit. While I may or may not install a factory radio in it to enhance its as-delivered appearance, I became curious as to what radio it had as original equipment and looked it up on Renz's compnine data compilation. It had UM6, no equalizer. But there's more....
I also learned that there were two cassette radio RPO's for Syclone:
(1772 produced) UX1 RADIO, AM/FM STEREO, CASSETTE, EQUALIZER, ETR, INCLUDES CLOCK STEREO AM/FM W/CASS & EQLZR (UX1)
(1223 Produced) UM6 RADIO, AM/FM STEREO, CASSETTE, ETR, INCLUDES CLOCK STEREO CASSETTE (UM6)
I see that UX1 has an equalizer, and that UM6 does not.
I have two early-90's era equalizer cassette radios in my stash. One has 5 round, black, un-lit knobs for the equalizer bands. The other has 5 oval, black, orange dot of illumination in the center (night) knobs for the 5 bands. Which one of these styles is correct for 1991 Syclone UX1? (black round is correct).
Any pics of known-original Syclone radios with the truck number (so I can look up its RPO in the database), or known RPO for the radio are welcome.
Thanks for reading.
