Raise driver seat? Latch Q added.

I would like to raise the drivers seat. Anybody ever attempt that? I haven't even gave it a real good look yet but thought I'd throw the question out.

I raised the front of driverseat by about 3/8" (to give my self a little bitmore leg room since I am 6'3") I just used washers as shims. If you want to more than 1/2" you would probably need longer bolts.

Ya, figured on longer bolts. I'm the other direction, about 5'8", and like being "up" in the seat anyway so Iwas thinking an inch, maybe even an inch and a half.

I raised the seat in my Jimmy. I just used a couple of washers. Before you go and change the seat bolts, if I can make a suggestion, try a couple of washers. You may be suprised on how much of a change it may make. You can always change out the bolts later. Besides, the bolts are a PITA to get out!

Great suggestions guys. I'm very conscious of maintaining the integrity of the factory setup so no worries there. I'm gonna at least remove the seat tomorrow to see what I'm up against. I like the alignment washer idea. Will let you know.

Starting on seat. Does anyone know why my seat backs don't latch? They never have. Looks like the mechanism is there and sorta acts like it wants to latch but doesn't do it.

They only latch on inertia.

Interesting. If that's so why is there a little lever to unlatch them? In case they get stuck?

Yup, the ones in my Ty and the buckets I swapped into my S15 do not require the latch to be moved to tilt the seats unless its at an angle.

Could you put 93 seat track on? Full power to raise up, angle, etc.
