Re: Remote Starter

for a good solid remote start, I'd go with a Directed Electronics piece (ie Viper/Valet/Clifford) or a Compustar unit.

With the 2002 Tahoe, there will be a module to interface with the Passkey Immobilizer system. At our shop we charge right around $330 for a keyless entry/remote starter installed with the required interface.

It will not disable your current factory "alarm" and the new remote will arm and disarm the factory unit as well as lock/unlock the doors and start the truck - so you can put your current remote away for emergency use only.

I can do this particular truck in just over an hour. Very easy vehicle to work with.

Re: Remote Starter

2 way compustar hands down.
I didn't get the ss but the 900mhz is just fine.

I've had a half dozen different alarms and this one is the best ever.
It plugs right into the newer GM data bus and even turns on the heated seats when it below freezing and all that.

You will not be disappointed.

Re: Remote Starter

There support and customer service is the best!! I have been doing remote starts for the last 15 years and have put ALOT of them in and the compustar is by far the best one, A lot of DEI guys will try to compare it to the one model they have with good range etc,the 2wss will smoke it,but DEIs interfaces are very good,And on a 02 tahoe the locks etc etc are right under the steering wheel at the bcm.
