revs while driving

Sometimes when im driving around and i have my foot off the brakes and gas the motor will rev up to 1600 rpms or so and just keep revving up and down. is this a bad map sensor? bad fuel pressure?

when was the last time you messed with your ignition sytem? check your wire, your plugs, then do it again. replace as necessary, this sounds ignition related to me.
could be wrong.

Does it happened when AC/heater on? Disconnect your AC compressor clutch wire and see what happened.

What torque converter do you have? Is it a high-stall (at least, higher than stock) converter?

Check for a vacuum leak and if you have a scan tool what are you're IAC step counts?

i have no scan tools. It does it when i have the ac off. I just changed my cap and rotor and it still does it. the plugs and wires have less the 6500 miles on them.

Brian's truck was doing this. It was going in and out of DFCO (decel fuel cutoff). The vacuum was right around the threshold for turning it on.

Anything that alters manifold vacuum could affect this.

Mines doing the same as well as a few other quirky things. Mine seems like the IAC is sticking.
