So you know how you are pulling up to an intersection, and there are cars already waiting, but just one in each lane? Of course, you want to get behind the car that you think will pull off the line fastest, so you can break out of the traffic and pull in front. Right? Well, at least I do.
So I am coming up to this intersection, 3 lanes wide, and there are 2 cars in the middle lane, one in the right, and one red one in the left lane. I figure the red car is a good bet for a speedy driver, so I get behind him. After a little while, the light goes green. Well, to my surprise, the car - an Infinity G35 - practically lights them up off the line! So I stomp it and get the downshift. Heh. I immediately start pulling on him. We've bothed cleared traffic now, by a good margin, and there is just empty road in front of us. It's clear he's got it floored, and that car sounds REALLY nice! But nevermind that, because now I changed lanes to the right and am pulling along side him. By the time we both hit about 50mph I am driving past him like he's in some Honda Civic.
GOOD BYE!
Right about then he shuts it down, and I do, too, and I look over and there's a factory price sheet on the window. Ha! This guy is on a TEST DRIVE! I have to wonder if the sales guy had said something like "When the light goes, just open it up - it's the fastest thing around!" and then I walk by him like it's nothing.
Imagine, considering buying a car with 260hp and 260 ft/lbs, only to be left in the dust by a ten year old Blazer. lol!
I wonder if he decided to buy it after that.
