Re: Scored PONTIAC HEADS / INTAKE!!
What he said^^^^^^
Also, depending if you plan to use them for their potential, you will need to set them up differently than they are currently. The springs will probably not be the correct ones for your cam even if you go to a solid cam. The retainers look like titanium, so good score there. The valves, if titanium, will need to be replaced, if not both, at least the exhaust. If not titanium they will need to be replaced as they are probably not high temp valves. The blue rockers are an older vintage Jesel made back in the mid 80s. The newer upgraded styles came out in 1994. These were clear anodized. You should send them to jesel and have them rebuilt if they have not been recently. Check the valve guides for size as most of the circle trackers open up the guides for high rpm and less friction. They didn't care if they burned some oil on race day vs more hp. You may not like it on the street. You can have inserts put in to get them to spec. Also be careful if it has expoxy in the runners. Many NA setups had expoxy in the runniers to help flow. Under high heat turbo applications the expoxy can come loose and play havoc with your turbo wheel.
I usually purchase used ported race heads/ intake setups in the $1,000 to $1,500 range then spend another $2,000 to $3,000 to rebuild them correctly and get them setup for injectors. You did good on the price, but be careful as to how they are setup and how you are going to be using them. There are a lot of older Bowtie parts being passed off as the high dollar Nascar stuff. Even Nascar stuff wears, breaks and can trash a motor. The older stuff is still great, but needs rebuilt just like anything else.
