Ok here we go. I want to be as honest as possible, good and bad.
1992 Typhoon #0004.Black/Black. 99,800 miles.
The story: I bought the truck locally from a private seller about 4.5 years ago with ~78,000 miles. It was not that well taken care of, but I have done my best to get it back into good shape. I got it running perfect and daily drove it for a couple years ~8,000 miles per year. For the last couple years it has been a weekend driver in the summer.
Engine:
Rungs great, idles good. Mobil1 every 3k miles. It ran a 13.5 at 98 mph. I have had it at the track twice, and raced a half a dozen times on the street.
Stock except for the following
Rubber I/C lines.
Electric Volvo fan with controller, turn on when ~180. Works well.
Hot wired I/c Pump to run when on.
A/C Is there, but does not work. I think it just needs to be recharged.
ABS light is on. Unit doesn’t work.
Drivetrain:
Transmission rebuilt by Waller 2.5 years ago. Has performed flawlessly since. Fluid still looks new. Have put on about 10k Miles since the rebuild.
Gilbert front driveshaft.
KYB monomax shocks all around. ~10k miles on them.
2” drop blocks in the rear, and cranked torsion bars in the front.
Interior:
Carpet was pretty worn out when I got it. I removed all the seats at one point and steam vacuumed it. Seemed to help a little.
Seats are in decent shape, Drivers seat has some scratched when a thief broke my window to steal my radio and sat in the glass.
Dash has small cracks by the vents, nothing major though.
There are odds and end missing like the hinge cover on the pass. Seat and the passenger side footwell plastic.
Exterior:
This is where it gets a little rough. I have done everything I can to keep it from happening, but this truck has been in the northeast its whole life and driven in the winters. Rust is forming under the doors, on the driver’s fender and on the tailgate. Also above the rear window. I took pictures of the damage as best I could. The front bumper has spider cracks in the paint, but no structural damage.
The paint is good besides the rust spots. Has a good shine to it.
The driver’s side rear corner is a Paul’s fiberglass piece.
I took all the cladding off at one point to redo the rivets and fasteners.
The wheels were stripped of their clear coat before I got it, and they have since oxidized some. They are good and straight, but need to be refinished. Tires are have 80% tread left.
She runs great, and is still a blast do drive. If I remember anything else I will add it.
I just bought a house and a Sy so I can’t keep it.
Any opinions on what price I should be asking? I dont really know what to ask b/c of the body work needed.
