3/8" drive works ok too but, it is a tight fit... When messing around on the back of the motor I like to jack the rear of the truck as high off the ground as I can. I chock both front wheels for safety, BTW. Makes reaching everything much easier. Don't forget to disconnect your ESC (tan wire with black stripe under heater box) when you set the timing. HTH's

not sure how you get a 3/8" in there, but more power to you. The 1/4" long extension with a wobble 9/16" is my preferred method. Try to push the fuel injector harness out of the way and slide the socket down underneath the distributor cap on the driver side working your way across toward the passenger side until the socket is over the distributor bolt. The 1/4" drive will barely fit b/t the cap and the x over on the fuel rail.

race or get outta the way
all i go to say isonce you change to mike lee's billet rails this question becomes a mute point.

ie. with billet rails you can put any socket in there with your eyes closed.
