Some days I hate syty's

I thought my truck would be driveable tonight or maybe tomorrow morning since I had already decided to pull an all nighter if necessary so I could drive it to work in the morning. But of course Im held up again. I went to replace my dipstick tube which got bent up while it was out of the truck making it hard to check the oil, with a stainless braided one. I thought it would take me an hour maybe to do. I was wrong of course. I got the old one out and in doing so it cracked where the ring is that prevents it from going down too far into the block. So now the old on is destroyed and I cant use it. Oh well, I have this purty new one anyways right? Well its complete crap. This thing doesnt bend a little if you try tapping it in place and arent at a perfect angle, it snaps instantly. It does it perfectly inside the block too :D . Aint I lucky? So I take off the downpipe, manifold, turbo, and crossover and get it out. I tried making the old one work but I think it will leak so Im not going to bother. Now I have about a days worth of work to put me back to where I was before I started today

You can imagine the sounds that were coming from the garage.

This stuff rarely happens to me at work though. Maybe because most the cars I work on are newer.

Anyways, I got it back together last night (at 2am)and let it run for about 15 minutes. I dont see any leaks. I will be driving it this weekend as long as its not snowing or raining. Thanks to this thing Ive been 30 minutes late to work 2 days this week. I told my sservice manager its becuase Im up late working on my truck though and so im not in any trouble.
