Sorry guys

Well you guys were right. I was too naive before. A while back I asked if I should get a sy/ty and a lot of y'all said to wait until after college I didn't want to and it came back to haunt me. I really wanted one of this trucks because they are truly a great machine...when they work. Now I'm thinking about selling the ty for a more reliable car through college and after college get a truck and having it for a weekend cruiser. This is the last thing I want to do but this isn't going to help me through college and I need something I can depend on (I also don't have the money for repairs being a college student). I should have listened to all of you in the first place. I just want to apologize for this. You are a great group of people and know what you are talking about. I should have listened. I will still stick around and expand my knowledge on the great trucks.

On a selling note I was thinking of what I could get for the truck. 82k on the odo. '92, just put on new shocks and sway bar. no rips or anything wrong with the leather and it's mechanically sound. I'm hoping to get around $13k for it but what do y'all think? I'm not 100% sure I'm selling it yet, I really don't want to but I'm going to take some time to think about it.

It still can be a great truck, if you take care of it and drive it easy............................................ the problem is driving it easy :rotf:

At the start, with great remorse for purchasing the Typhoon, you infer the truck doesn't work very often and you should have taken advice to not buy it. In conclusion, you infer what a great truck it is and throw out a top dollar price for potential buyers. Those 2 things don't coincide. If it has issues (and obviously it does based on the tone of your message), lay them out in the open so potential buyers know what they are walking into. Just my .02 worth. All the best with the sale!

Well it been said already in the 2 posts before me, sooooo if the truck has issues. Then I would say keep it and repair it slowly as time and money permit. Be humble and go buy a Honda to drive while in college and resist the urge to rice it out. Any spare money you have after the normal college stuff that students do, put that into the Typhoon. If you do it this way, about the same time as you graduate from college you'll have a great truck.

Re: Sorry guys

plus you just bought it and know the values are down right now, what did you pay for it? "you dont have to say" but start there and see what you can get but selling it here is going to be hard if you say it is not reliable then say it is a great ty in the same post.

It's not that it doesn't work very often...it does. it's just that I have to drive 500 miles to go to school and that's in Kansas and the winter was rough on it. The truck works great around the city, and before I took it up to college I could go pretty much anywhere I wanted to.

The winter was hard on it up there and driving it back wasn't so good. I'm just going to wait until summer to think about this more. I won't be driving it until May again so it'd be stupid of me to sell it right now. I have to end up with a 3.5 after this semester to keep my scholarship and to keep going to KSU, if I don't then I'd be going to a university around here. If that's the case then I'd keep the truck. The last thing I want to do is sell this truck.
