spare tire question

Mt truck is missing the spare tire, what size spare tire and what type of rim did these trucks come with? Can I go to the junk yard and get a spare rim from an S-10 or Sonoma?

The rim itself is just a plain black steel wheel.

A regular 4x4 S-truck wheel will fit on the truck. Since it's AWD, you need to make sure the overall circumference of the spare is the same as the regular wheels though. Otherwise you'll be trying to turn drivetrain parts at a different speed from each end, which they don't like...

Why would there be a difference between a Sy spare and a Ty spare?

They OEM wheel/tire setups are identical.
Brake setups are identical...

Maybe the Ty spare is "thinner" profile so it stores in the cargo area easier, taking up less room?

If I recall the sy spare is a 15in wheel and I don't remember the size, and the ty is a space saver donut pos
