TR6 IX plugs work awesome.

UR6 is non vortec. TR6 is the regular plug and the IX is for iridium

Listen to him, not me. :p
The URs are for the standard/L35 heads, and the TRs are for Vortecs, apparently.

Re: spark plug q's

i used the ur6 with my vortec headed 4.3 and it started for the first time yesterday. does anyone know exactly why the vortec head needs a different spark plug?

Re: spark plug q's

You need a longer plug for Vortec's. I bought TR55 and TR6 for when I swap to Vortec heads.

Which ones worked best? TR55 or TR6? I just bought some TR55 yesterday from napa.

the number is the heat range of the plug. The higher the number the colder the plug.

Depends on your combo but mostly street use you will not see much difference between th 55 or the 6.

I run 6's with pump gas and methanol and they work perfect.

.025 to.030 depending on compression and boost level.
