SS Trailblazer kill on freeway & on ramp to freeway

Hey all,
I fixed the small oil leak I had on my new Hybrid TDO6H-60-1 w/12 CM turbine housing.

I had just got the Sy running, going for a little cruise & monitoring A/F ratios & knock retard.

Then I see it ,a SS Trailblazer,we play a little on the street,he gets on it, I get on it & get closer & closer, then he lets off.

Get on the freeway onramp & almost rear end the guy because I am gaining quickly.
We get on the freeway, open area,he gets on it,I get on it I pull away pretty quicky up to 105. Pulled about 6-8 cars on the guy.

Meanwhile been noiticing my A/F ratios are between 14.5 & 15 to 1.
Boost was all over the place ,22 PSI then going down to 15,but I did not want to let off & let this guy think he was faster than me. KRs where there but only2-6 degrees & not the whole time while floored.

After the race,I was thinking, why is my truck running so lean?
Then it hit me,,I had the FP set low to pass smog a while ago & remembered I had set it to 40 PSI vacuum line dissconnected,,,ooopppps.

So I reset my fuel pressure to 60 PSI,just to see what the A/F ratios will be like.

Take it out again, floored it,, Saw 12.5 A/R going down to 11.9 & a bit richer the longer I stayed in it..

Boost was steady.

Boost launch new hybrid turbo.
I can launch @ 10 ,15 or more PSI & having the 60-1 compressor wheel in there makes the boost come in fast..Mind you this is still w/my stock 2100 RPM stall converter.

There is a slight hesitation (boosts up slower) compared to the 20G wheel, normal driveing, but once it gets spooled up ,seems to move pretty good.

Just bought a Trailblazer, non SS, been hangin' a bit on one of their sites. It would seem that a small number of SS's can move but unless they are really tuned and/or blown they're mid to low 14's but don't hold me to that, just what I've kinda gathered. Apparently once worked on they can be fairly quick. MPG's are worse that the Sy from what I've seen.

Yeh,I would say he had home field advantage.
Everytime I let him floor it first.I let him get a little advantage also.
I would have thought he should have beat me with my timing retarding,& low boost.

I know those Trailblazers are a little heavy though. ;)

Nice kill. There is a guy here with a S/C and tuned, exhaust blah blah blah that runs low 13's. I tflaked to him at the track breifly and he seemed kind of snooty like he was driving some priceless piece of automobile history and I was some kid driving a Honda Civic. Nice truck though I guess. There wa also one up at the last SYTY meet in Denver that apparently was not AWD but had the Lingenfelter 427 in it. The thing sounded BADASS!!! He wouldnt run it though cause the streets were wet??? He claimed it ran low 12's in Texas.

I fabricated the 3" inlet .
The 60-1 i wheel is a lot bigger than the 20G one. Forgot the measurements off hand.
60-1 is 59 MM inducer 76MM exducer.

I spent roughly $160 but that does not include any machineing or balanceing.
The Co. that did the balance & machineing the compressor housing damaged the housing & did not charge me.

RPM, Mike ,Ghettosled, can machine a cover for you & balance. Still waiting for a quote from him.
Turbo seems to run pretty good so far ,but with two babies @ home, it's hard to find time to do anything right now. ;)
