Stock cam shaft pics

Does anyone have pics of a stock camshaft. One that came out of an unmolested truck? I am curious to see if it looks like the one I put in my wife's Ty. Hers was different than mine. But my friend Mike had the same one and he said it was stock. There are numbers on it but I googled it and came up short. It looked like some hit the "shaft" area with a ball ping hammer everywhere. If anyone has pics of their stocker post it up please.

Here is the link to the thread with the posted numbers http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=66598&highlight=cam

I also took this thing to the machine shop where I was told it was a stock style. All cams I have seen stock looked like they were cast to me. Any thoughts?

Mike,

I have a stock cam at the shop. Ca take a pic tomorrow. Are you trying to figure if it's billet or cast or what?

My stock cam had flats ground around the whole diamter where the fuel pump lobe would normally be and had the following code stamped in it 148.CPC.BC.14...148.CPC.BC.14... I'm not sure where it starts or ends since its goes around the whole diameter, I figured the triple dots would be the starting point, since that's whats between where it repeats itself.

Yeah that and it might explain a couple other things. One, it might shed some light on why my distributor whines. I have confirmed it is not the converter and not the power steering pump. It also might be a reason why this truck seems to perform so much better than my truck did with the same set up.

Mike,

A noisy gear, generally speaking, means too little clearance.

Ended up at the shop for a minute so here's your pics. Sure "looks" like a billet to me but OK if someone corrects me. Number on cam is:

148 CPC BC 14

Written around the circumference just ahead of the first lobe.

Don, that is the same one I have in the wife s Ty. What funny is that my cam looked nothing like that. I will take pics of it tomorrow and post it up. Wonder the deal is/was.
