I just want to know what is the biggest improvement you saw when you installed a 9/11 converter instead of stock?
Alot of the engineers here at work say that the converter is the key to making these motors run strong....

I was just wondering what board members thought...

the 9/11 will add about 50-60lbs of torque at the least. maybe more. they definatly make the truck wake up from a roll or stop.

We put a 9-11 in a stock Typhoon, with good exhaust & tune.

From a stop, punch it, you had full boost & wheelspin within a truck length.

At the track, you had to launch in vacuum to keep it out of wheelspin.

If you can deal with the soft feel of the converter, it's a huge improvement in performance.

WOW  ! I never thought that it would make so much difference!!! DO any of you guys have the 1/4 times of a stock syty and the times of the same syty with the 9/11????

thanx!

BG - what stall speed do you recommend with the PTE52 setup? Mine's a daily driver for the most part so I still want my truck to have good street manners. Let me know what you think. Low 12s/high 11s is my goal.

The 9/11 is pretty impressive but like every thing is has it's drawbacks. George Blake is or was having some vibration (Shudder), during light throttle 4-3 downshift (like when decellerating going up a hill with your foot lightly on the throttle to keep it going up the hill but still slowing). Other than that I have heard all good things about it. It was caused by a spring that was
deleted to make room for the clutches in the smaller space. Rusty at TCS had to stack more clutches to get the same surface area as the stocker and the
spring was deleted to make room. The result is a premature clutch release on
some units.

Sounds like Brian has stopped selling his old TC's. Now he wants $795 - $895 for his (NEW) one??????????? What's up with that?? I understand people have to make money somehow but.....

Jesse, you are right. You've exposed my evil intention to take over the world financed by the 9/11's. Why do you spout off to the list about something you know nothing about and haven't been around long enough to really know? Do you think I'm going to make more money selling these TC's? I get these prices told to me. I don't make them up and have no say so in cost. I have say-so in the design and application. So let's say the 9/11 cost me $495 like they currently do. The new design is going to cost $300-$400 more. So if I sell them for let's say $795 to $895, do the math. No wait let me do it. Just because something costs more doesn't mean I'm making more. I lose money on these things as it is. I am always buffering any problems I can and if that means I buy a TC for someone while they send theirs back to the shop because they didn't flush their coolers or their tranny burned up, I do. And you go off spouting to the list saying, "What's up with that?? I understand people have to make money somehow but...." I think I picked out the flaw in your statement. The part where you say "I understand" is where you messed up. Your explanation of the TC shudder is so wrong it's funny. Here, I'll make up a reason with as much fact as yours. The shudder is caused by a quick blast of cold ATF as it injects into your tranny's TC. His little toes get so cold, it shiver's and then yells at you to close the damn door because it's going to catch it's death in a thick, rough voice with a Brooklyn accent. There. Now people know as much as they did after reading your post. Don't post if you don't know the answer. I see this in almost every post you do on transmissions but I don't say anything because you take every opportunity to try flaming me or referring business to anybody but me. Every e-mail you send to me accusing me of being a bad person because I make money for the work I do, (though you don't care to mention all the money I don't make for helping everyone I can even if they aren't a customer but friends in our SyTy community. I don't have time to play flame wars with you. You are lucky I'm in business because if I wasn't, I'd be a lot more vocal about what I thought. The people that have been around for a while know me and might even be amused by it but since this is an open forum and there are large numbers of people that don't know me, I can’t. I don't want them thinking I'm 2 years old too. :D

If anyone has questions, feel free to call me or e-mail me. Yes it's free. Heck it was free the many hours I spent with Jesse when he needed help though you'd never thought such a bad guy would of done that with the way the Jesse would like you to believe. Quality people are easy to spot so if you are new to the list, ask them about things. Usually the most vocal people have the least to say. They just have a lot of time to spend in front of a computer without the threat of being accountable for what they say. Though some are genuine. Ask a long time member of the SyTy lists about different people. Get it from several then draw your conclusions. Then when a newbie gets on here and starts flaming people and causing problems, you'll know better than to listen to anything they have to say.

Jesse, I'll give you a hint on the TCC shudder some people get and where to look. It's not the TCC that is causing the shudder, it is what's referred to as "the effect." Meaning, Jesse, it won't be solved blaming the TC and it's spring delete?, To make up for the room for the extra clutches? To make up for the smaller surfaces so it can equal the stock area? Needed because of the smaller space??? Where did you ever come up with that? Somebody needs to take a month or two to study the archives..... Jesse, I'll give you 3 guesses. :D I don't know if you've looked on a 9/11 lately but that big cover being the 11" part of the 9/11 that is graphed to the 9" is the big area of what a stock unit has plus it has even more.

If I'm not around to respond to the wit and logic Jesse will no doubtedly show in his response, it's because I am not on here a lot because I cringe every time I get on here seeing what is being said. If I come on and correct Jesse, he just starts slamming me. The SyTy list wouldn't of put up with that several years ago when there was a lot more comradery. Seems anything goes anymore. Especially on a web based forum. Not a good place to find a person trying to help and getting exposed to people like you Jesse. Ever notice how involved businesses are on here? Do you care to guess why, Jesse? You need to quit bashing people and just listen and learn.

uh oh... [icon_eek.gif] Here we go again... [icon_frown.gif]

I think I'll let it stop at that, Brian already put lot's of words in my mouth and said silly things about me so just let me correct them. I think I'll also call Rusty at TCS again and get another explination on why the TC shutters. The reasonm I always question you is because with everything you do it is really expensive and we the people get no explination at all. Oh, BTW I never spent more than an hour on the phone because you scared me off with those high priced tranny kits. It's a good thing I did my home work instead of getting burnt. Anyway Brian, I hope I havent upset you. Good luk trying to sel those High HP TC's.

Then when a newbie gets on here and starts flaming people and causing problems, you'll know better than to listen to anything they have to say.
 I think I did upset him. Well Brian you have to keep a communication somehow. I never see you on here unless I'm talking about you playing fish tring to get you in. Oh, BTW I'm not a newbie.

Somebody needs to take a month or two to study the archives.....
Brian, when I do I somehow get this:

I removed the front drive shaft this afternoon. The truck burns out all the time even without trying. I got stopped by a cop as I was speeding up to merge (burning out the whole way). I told him that I removed the drive shaft this afternoon and the truck loses traction easy without the 4WD. He said since I had a valid DL and proof of insurance, he wouldn't give me a ticket. He even said sorry for stopping me. That was weird. I wonder if I have the record for the longest burnout and having a cop not give a ticket. I just left a friends house and he lives in a culdesac. He said light'em up. So I did and man it lasted about four houses before I quit (I didn't want to miss my turn and I woke lots of people) but there was so much more left. It's a good thing those tires are being replaced soon.

Just having a little fun before I put on the new drive shaft thursday,

Brian SY#1810

How do you get to the screw to loosen the distributor so I can turn it. Is
there a different way to correct the timing? Is there a special tool? I
think mine is retarded and slow >;P But I couldn't even touch that screw and my socket dropped into never, neverland. I need to change my cap and rotor but no luck today. Just put in the remote solenoid and it's a must for those of you that haven't done it. Landon's instructions are very accurate and helpful.

Thanx for any help,

Brian

Anyway B, if you do anything for this community do this. Be honest, and fair priced. Remember our last flame war? That was the topic of it to! Sell your existing TC's to people at $525 Not $595, TCS is a major TC company and they are not limited on parts like you tole me. I could give a shit about your new TC! And lastly why does it take someone like me to get the truth out of you? You need to think about a couple of things before you say them bud! Later![/quote]

Watch your language there tough guy.... concerns can be noted and warranted if they are due... Foul language is not and only makes you look less credible... To this date I haven't heard one negative statement regarding Brian's credibility or complaints about his craftsmenship... He charges what he wishes too... If you don't think the price is fair for a TC then I suggest you purchase yours directly from TCS. If you don't like Brian's Transmission kits or the price he asks for them then I suggest you build your own kit or purchase a kit somewhere else... Flaming someone over R&D is childish considering Brian is not the main source of price increase on the 9/11 even though he suggested better conponents; it is TCS...

BTW: related to the amount of time you've owned your syclone or been on this board (about 9-10 months) you are a newbie when compared to Brian... From your perspective you might not be new... However, he sees his ownership time in years and if I recall corectly he's an original Syclone owner... so that puts his time in at around 10+ years...
Just some info...

Can't we all just get along....hehehe

BH, i'm SAD you won't be at Nat's and THANK YOU for all your support and assistance through out the years. I appreciate it.

To everyone, for what it's worth, I'm trying to protect your wallets! Look at your build sheet if you bought BH tranny. Then go to any tranny shop, tranny part's source and have them price all of it. My point exactly!!!

ParTyBoy,
To this date I haven't heard one negative statement regarding Brian's credibility or complaints about his craftsmenship
You havent heard anything because everyone is afraid to stick up for them selves. Ever since I voiced my opinion I have recieved over 30 e-mails from people that fell the same way. They choose not to be open because they don't want to hurt their Rep, whick is ok because I don't care.

If you don't think the price is fair for a TC then I suggest you purchase yours directly from TCS
I bought mine from Brian for $525 2 months ago. He now says they are $595. You do the math here buddy. Oh BTW Im not the oly one that thinks so..... From the List:
Brian,

These are sad news, at least for me... The 9/11" is killer as it is. I guess
there are a lot of people out there like me, who don't need a better one. So for
me it's just a price raising. Why couldn't you keep the current product and
offer a better one for the big dogs if there is any need?

BTW, the price was $495 a few months ago. What's this? Inflation?

I really appreciate your work, but this just not right. [:-(]

Peace,
Zsolt

Brians reasoning for this is:(The parts for the last few are going to be hard to locate and therefore cost more.) My question is How? TCS should have this stuff laying arround in bulk!

I did!

Truthfully for your info, in the last 10 months that I have been posting I have seen Brian say maybe 20 things total.

BH, I'm SAD you won't be at Nat's
Anyone care to know what he told me his reasoning for not going to the nats is? He said because it was in Chitown and some of it's people.

Anyway, let's get on with life? Who cares right? We are arguing about a price of a product, and if people wan't to pay that then go ahead. I like the good deals, especialy when they are good!

How's the tranny page Brian??

The only complaint I have heard is the cost. How many of those 30 people have one of his kits? Some people don't have the money to spend, some think they can do it better, some are frugal or cheap.

Brians reasoning for this is:(The parts for the last few are going to be hard to locate and therefore cost more.)

It took 8 weeks to get my 9/11, I am sure their shipping departs isn't that slow. I emailed Brian last thursday night (5/9) to order me another 9/11 (I sold mine to another list member who needed it imediately), he charge me the regular $495 plus $25 shipping.

If you don't like Brian's Transmission kits or the price he asks for them then I suggest you build your own kit or purchase a kit somewhere else...
I did!

Good. Why try to discredit someone who product you never used? 1 tranny with a shuddering TC doesn't make you an expert. If you think it is too expensive, fine. You didn't buy it.

Because I have personally seen the problems and heard about them.

My TC does not shudder, that was just a prime example from some of the emails!!!

Jesse, You say you have all this support but I hear the opposite in great number from a lot of respectable people. If people don't like me, hey I can't be everything to all people. You say you are so active on the list but there is a difference between shooting off your mouth and actually posting something worth a crap. I don't have time to be on this list like you. Obviously your career allows you the time. Don't judge your worth buy the number of posts you post. Jesse, go ahead and call Rusty and waste his time. Be sure you are a man and come back and apologize for making it look like it was me hiking up the prices. You didn't take any economics classes when you were in school did you? Jesse, you also think you can go get my parts from any shop. You can't and you can't even tell the difference. So you spreading this misinformation is a total lie. You aren't protecting anyone's wallets. You are trying to be something you aren't and don't mind trying to tear apart a vendor's hard earned rep in the process. Someday it will happen to you and then you'll see.

Jesse you are totally disrespectful in saying things in public I wrote to you in private. You are a real winner. If anyone can't see you for what you are, then they are probably like you. I told you reason but didn't get into them so for you to try starting something with the Chicago crowd, and me don't bother. Everything you'll be saying will be taken out of context and uncreditable but I don't suppose that matters to you.

The tranny page is coming along fine thank you for asking. I work on it when I have time and a matter a fact I was working on it the moment your mouth opened and barfed your crap to the list.

Yeah, let's get on with life, which cares any ways. Nice to say that AFTER you try to tear down someone's integrity.

This is in response to the previous message of Jesse.

You question me because I'm expensive. Yeah I am but I do my job well and my trannies are worth it and I stand behind them. Good luck finding that anywhere else for us. I don't explain stuff? What??? Jeez, you just don't understand what I'm saying. I didn't realize you are over here watching my every move. You couldn't be farther from the truth if you tried. I'm constantly helping people. Heck I helped you for hours when you had problems and you weren't even a customer. I scared you off with my high prices? I wish I scared you off totally and didn't even waste my time with you. I admit I don't have the lowest prices, but if lowest prices are given by the best companies, why is Kmart going bankrupt? My parts aren't just parts. I support them all the way through. I'm not some crap warehouse that knows nothing but a part number. I didn't see you complaining about the place you got your stuff from not helping you. Why? Because you came to me and I, not being very smart at the moment, helped you with every question you had. So instead of supporting a vendor that has a vested interest in our community you go buy crap from some warehouse, use me and abuse my generosity then turn around and and tell people not to buy from me because my prices are too high and that you have all this information and knowledge to help the list. And you say you are doing a service to the list? Anyone with half a brain can see you are doing the complete opposite and actually hurting the list and if you can't see that please speak up and profess your mental prowess.

You don't have to fish for me to help the list. Don't think you help the list by spouting off until I come on and defend myself. If you weren't active on the list and so eager to try slaying my reputation, I would help a lot more. Am I gracing the list with my presence? No, but I don't need the stress of dealing with you when I'm busy helping people that appreciate it. What the hell are you thinking pulling this crap out of the archive? I'm an owner of a 3 Syclones and a Typhoon. Don't I have the right to have fun on the list? This is before I went into business anyway. This kind of example really shows how much of a classless person you are. So you are saying I haven't helped the syty community. Here's a question I'd LOVE to hear the answer to, do you believe you are helping out the list and that in your SHORT time (newbie, so much in fact he can't even see it) you've helped even more than I have? I don't know if it takes a brain surgeon to even think hard enough to come to the conclusion that maybe ALOT of my help is directed to me by other list members privately and that since I always try to help, it's known you just come to me for help. I post to the list when it was needed and when I had the chance. You assume everyone has as much time to waste on the net as you do. A lot of people don't have that time, like me, and this whole thing is just taking the time from someone I could be helping right now. You also question my word and that I don't tell the truth. You are so crooked you don't even know the truth when it is giving to you. I am fairer than most business and I don't lie about my claims. Now, why not go call
Rusty and come back to the list and tell everyone how true everything I've said was and that you have to be a little more careful on who you accuse of lying.
