Stock Syclone Chip???

This chip was in my Syclone, is it the original chip??? I was thinking that if it was original it would not have an ATR decal on the side. And if it is not the stock chip does anyone know anything about it??

Def. not OEM, but looks like a very early ATR chip. Either that or they code their custom burns that way. Someone with more ATR experience might have the answer, but yeah, def. not the original chip.

FWIW, my ATR Pitbull chip looks nothing like that.....both the labels are different then mine, including the address.


EDIT: ...and when was ATR ever out of California?? Thought they were always out of South Carolina, I might be mistaken though. ;)

I'm guessing, but it could be where they had custom burns done/tested, while the physical comp. location was in SC. Hell, maybe they had Kenne Bell doing custom burns for them. :rotf:

Edit: I take all stickers off the chips we reburn (GM, ATR, KB, etc...) and stick them on the side of our work fridge. Just noticed about 5-6 of 'em from Cali. Either this was frequent for them to do custom burns this way or they shipped chips from CA at one point.

They were originally based in California. Had one of their chips in my Sy back in the early 90's, after having a junk Kenne Bell one. Driveability and power were good from what I remember.

They were in Cali originally, back when they started doing Syclone stuff.
There's discussion regarding the move if you look at some of the old mailing list archives.

This one I really suspect was semi-custom, or maybe one of their development chips.
