Multiple piece, all tig welded.

Race dump goes at the last bend before it heads back to cat, faces down.

Re: Stock Turbo 3" Downpipe

I take it it will work with a stage 1 turbo from RPM. I bolts up to a stock DP??

Re: Stock Turbo 3" Downpipe

yes, as long as the rpm turbo bolts up to the stock downpipe, which i assume it does since youre running it. this downpipe uses the same style mounting flange as previously stated by, jeff.

this would be a great option for you gary.

Re: Stock Turbo 3" Downpipe

I gota see if I can scrape up the funds. Looks like I will take a SS one with setup for stock and wbo2.

Re: Stock Turbo 3" Downpipe

I'd double check that RPM turbo, I assume its the newer style exhaust housing - Bolts will match up for sure, but make sure the flange will work since its not one of the mitsu housings.

Re: Stock Turbo 3" Downpipe

I have ATR headers, and for some reason the #4 primary obstructed fitiment of the stock downpipe. I had to bang the side of my DP flat to get it to clear. I dont want to run into this issue and end up beating on the side of my brand new DP with my 5lb sledge. I dont have AC so plenty of room to move it over a bit to get the required clearance. Is it possible to build in a little more clearance and end up with the same DP discharge position?
Thanks,
-Rob

Re: Stock Turbo 3" Downpipe

So say on my truck if I was to run the 3" downpipe and then have the rest of the exhaust made to go from there out behind the pass. door, is there going to be any big advantage to the dump since I don't run a cat or a muffler and the exhaust would be pretty short anyway?

I have never had a wideband, so do you need 2 ports to have one or is there some advantage i'm missing? I doesn't hook into or replace your O2 sensor?

The 3" pipe is obviously bigger than stock, so things get closer. I will be setting up the tooling, mocking it up to give the most clearance possible. To custom change things for the several different combinations of parts is impossible, nor do I have your exact setup here to check.

Jeremy's truck, running through a 3" cat and ATR muffler is .2 seconds slower in the quarter -vs- his dump. Granted though he gets a little more boost with dump open so that may be part of it also. I would say without cat or muffler your difference would be less, how much I have no clue just guessing.

Thanx Jeff that gives me a good idea.

Just trying to think if I can come up with the money if I would need this, how will it be locked close, will you be able to open it without lifting the truck up at all??

Can you give me any more info on the extra O2 bung from my other post??

Re: Stock Turbo 3" Downpipe

dump will be a pipe with a flange of of the downpipe. you then would need a electric valve to open/close the dump(tom dowd has this, if you remember), extra o2 bug would allow you to run a wide and narrow band o2 sensor.

Re: Stock Turbo 3" Downpipe

Just curious........... Is there 3" hi flow cat that i can use which will bolt up to this and then bolt up to RPM's stainless steel exhaust?

Re: Stock Turbo 3" Downpipe

your only question should be, does a high flow cat bolt up to the RPM exhaust, because i think you have to weld the downpipe to the cat. but i could be wrong.
