Strange fuel pump behavior

TYTILIDIE

METH HEAD
Yesturday I went to my moms for dinner. After I left I got about a block away and hte truck shut down. When I tried to start it would nt start. I checked my FP gauge and it was way down to 20 just with the key on. Not bleeding off though. I had this problem before when the hose going from the pump to the hanger split but it always bled off pressure instead of staying in one place. I tried a few more times and got nothing. So I had to have the truck towed home. Well, this afternoon I went to pull the tank but wanted to see if it would start so I could turn it around in the garage. It fired right up and held perfect pressure. Went for an hour long ride when hte wife got home and it never skipped a beat. I have no idea what to think about this. I checked all my wiring and found nothing wrong. I want to go to truck fest on Sunday but dont wnat to get stranded. Which always a possibility ofcourse but not like this. Any thoughts?

Out on a limb here but....If you got all kinds of crap in the bottom of the tank, the fuel sock could be gathering up junk over a period of time and eventually clog the sock. Shut off and the junk may dislodge temporarily....I hope you find the problem soon!

AFPR? I was having problems with mine when I first put it in. It was holding 20psi and not bleeding off. Turns out the diaphragm inside or whatever adjusts it was messed up. I thought I pinched a line when I did the pump but I didn't. I put the stock regulator in and it was fine. Just an idea.
