Stroker kit opinions.

I checked these guys out when building a n/a 4.3. At the time they said their stroker setup yielded 270Ci with .030 overbore. Not much of an increase. Some benefits may come from a longer rod setup and a higher piston pin location in the piston itself, but seems like a lot for ~8 ci. My info may be dated or wrong, but thats what the guy told me when I called.

Offset ground crank = bad idea

You are going with a stroker crank that has LESS material than stock, with smaller pin diameters. Ron Gregory had this design crank in his Syclone, broke the crank shortly after he started boosting it.

NOT the way to gain power, and that is my strong opinion.

i'm with slippery donald - if its a stock crank thats been offset, run like hell!
if it's an aftermarket unit, maybe not so much run as look carefully.

my stroker billet crank is a moldex. my engine is 297 inches. it is a torque monster and ran good enough to at one time be the fastest sy in the world. is still the fastest sy in the world with a 700 trans and iron heads and syclone intake. it is my understanding that forged stroker cranks are really hard to come by. i would follow the other guys suggestions about staying away from stock cranks that have been weakened to become a stroker. also, that isn't very much increase.

it is my understanding that mike lee still has access to billet strokers.

McCoy informed me the other day that he had a line one some billet stroker. My current motor is over 300ci and I would like to have another crank as a spare.

I dont know what for, Ill never get to race my sy much to hurt the one I have.

mike at raceprovenmotors not only has a line but has them in stock in many different configurations. 1 or 2 piece real seals and even or odd fire.
