Syclone #1523 is dead!!! Damn old people!

I was out yesterday taking a lap around the block to check a small noise the turbo was making with a friend and as i am driving down the street some 90 year old lady decides all of a sudden that it would be a good time to make a left turn in front of me. i tried to brake but to now success. i crunched the front end or syclone #1523 a complete original, perfect cladding, 42500 mile truck. the police came out and said it was her fault completely but that is no comfort to my heart. i am now going to need some help from all of u. i need to know a good shop to take this truck to in northern california for body work and engine work . . .i want the entire truck gone though before i will accept it back or i want it totaled. i know it has lost is clean perfect record and so as an investment it is lost. i might buy it back to turn into a drag truck but for now im am heart broken that another one of our trucks is lost to an old persons blind carelessness.

yeah i got her too but some old pos 1997 toyota avalon, and the crap thing is she couldn't read my insurance card (" i dont have my glasses with me" she said ) let alone see me coming.

i almost had the same thing happen to me.. Im driving behind some old fogie, they go to the right shoulder (looks like hes parking) and he decides to flip a U-Turn in front of me onna 2 lane road... I came about an inch from hitting the guy and i was in the wrong lane almost on the curb. GRR!

Man, that's too bad.. I live in fear my pristine Sy will be the victim of something crazy like that... I'm the ultimate defensive driver (no accidents in 49 years), but some things are just unavoidable because they happen too fast. Hope you get it put back together better than new!

I’m sure you know how to cover yer ass on this but feel free to ask if you need some "tips" when her insurance company tries to screw you (about a 99% given that they will). If its totaled I would get a certified appraisal by a "collector / specialty vehicle" appraiser and demand either the high cash value or replacement of the truck in like kind (that will screw them over cause the have to actually find a low mileage like condition replacement instead of just cutting a check!). Oh, I hope you had it towed to your home or a shop of YOUR choice and not the insurance company hack shop.

Sorry to hear of your loss. It scares me to drive some of my cars and bikes just because of this. It took State Farm 3 years to find a like kind replacement for my 38' Indian Super Chief so I can relate to the feeling.

Wow that sucks. people these days just dont know how to drive. i have a what was a mint clean 1991 S10 with air ride and a few other things. i was sitting at a solid red light when a lady plowed into me with a Jeep. She told the cops that she was reading a sign and seen the left turn lane was green so she hit the gas. hitting me at 40 mph. so through all the B/S and me having PLPD coverage since the insurance company needed to send somone out to take pictures of the truck for full coverage. i had 3000k in damage i just got my settlement of $500 because of our no falt state.

So Good luck with your truck give them hell and make shure she pays. have your friend write what happoned stating what she said about her glasses and have a whitness 3rd party sign it so its legal in court. Do you home work and be ready for a battle.

That sucks bro, I know how you feel. Granted I wasn't upset as I wanted to get rid of my car anyways...My car was no SyTy by any stretch but what it was was a perfect 13,000 mile example of a Mazdaspeed6, 1 of 10,000 gone now. I also had an older lady hit me, I don't know what her excuse was because I never even saw her face to face but she decided that making a left in front of a line of traffic (with me being the lead car) was the best idea in the world at the time. Did enough damage to total my brand new car and instantly total her shitbox 00 Caravan.

Good luck with your Sy man, I know a guy around here that got his mint Sy crushed between a semi and a jersey barrier on the highway...Don't know how that ever turned out, I know it was at a body shop earlier this year and I haven't heard or seen anything since then.
