well........syclones are faster than typhoons cause of the 250lb weight difference.

Some Syclones are faster than other Syclones and Typhoons faster than other Typhoons cause of...

A. the driver (how they launch)
B. the driver (weight)
C. track condition / elevation
D. mileage on the truck
E. air temperature
F. truck might need a tuneup
G. any other variable you wish to add, tires, tire pressure, type of air filter, ect

the ammount of yellow stickers is a big one.

power variations are in direct relation with the overall thickness of the drivers wallet.

not to mention every single truck came off the line with different performance..

wasn't it stated that some came out around 300hp and a really strong motor, while others showed up with 280 and a pretty weak block..

I mean for such a short run of production trucks, you can't expect perfection in every truck..

im sure if you put two low milage typhoons next to each other, with the same driver, the times will be different.

I think the three biggest factors are ...

1) The driver.
I showed a new syty owner how to launch his Ty at the Nats and he knocked a full second off of his 1/4 mile time.

2) How the truck is tuned.

3) Outside air tempature.

I believe that if you take 20 tuned-up, bone stock Typhoons with the same driver on the same day that there would be very little differance in thier 1/4 mile times.

Read SyTy History at the top of this page.

That HP was supposed to be set at 340-360HP with around 425ftlbs of torque. The Syclone was to do 12s out of the box.

The advertised HP rating of 285HP... believe it all you want, but its not true. Its more like 300HP, proven by quite a few dyno pulls on stock trucks... just ask Norm.

Of course, this was never to happen, because of GM's flagship corvette. There was no way a truck was going to be marketed that could kick the crap out of the vette.

In fact... all the magazine testing done, most of the numbers and times ran and that were published are not the real numbers at all. GM wanted everything skewed and slower than it actually was. High 12s went to mid 13s. They took numbers from the inexperienced drivers and used them....after all, the truck DID run those numbers....just odd that the PAS/Triad employees would drive the trucks right after and push the real numbers with them.

The TTA was rated at like 250, but really had 300+ at the wheels.
