Id like to take the opportunity to introduce a new site specific to SyTy autoX racing, called SyTySolo.com

SyTySolo was something that myself and Michael Hood (Hood Tuned Performance) have put together to help bring the sport of solo racing more in the spotlight rather than just straight line racing which our trucks have gone down in history for. With the help from Jonathan Pope and solo racing guru Wayne Walter, we will be providing the most resourceful site regarding solo racing specifically for our trucks and potentially other s-series.

Since the introduction of autoX at Nationals 2009, there has been interest in the sport among owners who are looking for something new in racing and challenging their driving skills. SyTy Solo's goal is to provide the information for both beginners and seasoned racers to learn and share information regarding the sport.

Some of the information we will be showcasing:

  • Solo 101 - The basics of getting into and what to do at autoX events
  • Multimedia - View videos of racing and watch tutorials on various techniques, tips and tricks to help shave time off your laps.
  • Events - A calendar of both official SCCA and local events around the US
  • Articles - Read stories on trucks that are autoX and road raced prepped and what the owners have done to reach their goals
  • Shop - Opening soon, we'll be carrying accessories, racing equipment and of course SyTySolo apparel.

While we are not 100% finished with the site, we wanted to get the word out and let everyone join in on the movement we are doing towards a new area of SyTy. We have been continuously working to get the site filled up with the necessary information and are open for any contributions that anyone wants to offer (pics, videos, writeups, etc).

You can also hit us up and follow regular updates on facebook!

What Adam said. We have big plans for the site, and while it's not finished, there's good info and videos available even in it's infancy.

Great site! Nice to have another sport to add new technology/parts to our trucks, as well as having some fun along the way. Graphics on the site look good too. Good job guys!

Re: SyTySolo.com

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I should mention too, we will eventually open up 3 tiers of membership once we get more information ironed out. Basically it will be bronze, silver, and gold membership....each with their own packages of benefits. We are also working on doing a monthly newsletter as well as an email list to extend out beyond the website for information and stories on what is going on within the race scene.

We really want to open this site up for everyone to both use and help add information to it. Solo racing is an affordable form of racing that doesnt just rely on how well your truck is tuned, but how well you can drive. Not all courses will be super fast and with our AWD advantage, it's easy to go out and dominate a correctly set up course and run with top model sports cars. On top of that, it's SUPER FUN to sling around your truck and push the limits if you so choose.

Ideas for the site are more than welcome and would be considered. If you see something missing that you think would be good for the site that coincides with autoX and road racing, tell us! We very much want this to be an open forum to expand out bring in more people to the fun of solo.

Re: SyTySolo.com

Few more updates have been made on the site.

- We now have a page for the SCCA regional maps. Click on individual maps and you can see tracks in the area and get contacts.

- Hood has been slowly adding to the tutorials, right now focusing on tuning in general (cant race without a good running truck).

- Solo 101 continues to grow with information and still has more to go. This is a great page for the beginner to get an overview of autoX.

- Soon to be released will be an article section that will feature various projects and trucks that are purpose built for AutoX or road racing. Im working on the first article now should be done shortly! *If you are working on something with your truck, contact me.... you could be a future article!

We are still working out the details with the shopping cart and SyTySolo apparel. As soon as we have that stuff done, we get the cart going as well as open up the members section of the site.

Re: SyTySolo.com

We added a new feature - The SyTySolo Region Team. Think of this as a house of representatives for the SyTySolo States of America (except we're not holding elections). You can apply to be a Region Team member, and if approved, you'll be the "go-to" guy for all things SyTySolo (sytys and autocrossing) in your area. We have plenty of spots open, so gauge if you feel like filling that role, and if so, apply.

We added a new feature: an Autocross Game! It's a simple flash game, so make sure you have the latest flash player (link on page). You can select from 7 different cars, 3 premade tracks, and even design your own track. Have fun!

We're working on adding a more advanced game to the site, but for now, this should cure a little boredom.
